Before choosing John Soto's Dream Team Construction, we had several quotes and less than impressive kitchen designs for our old and tired kitchen When John came over to see what we wanted to do, he was receptive to our ideas, provided samples of what products he uses, a working sketch of our new kitchen layout, and a fair quote Our kitchen design required new electrical, plumbing, structural work, cabinets, and a counter top All were completed with expertise and in a timely manner John went above and beyond to ensure the project was done before Christmas and made sure we were happy before he accepted final payment I would highly recommend John Soto and Dream Team Construction if you want professional and quality work done in your home

HelloI received the email below from the Revdex.com on 1/14/for the first timeIn your email, you state the claim is closed because you did not receive a response back from me to confirm the claim was resolvedThat is because I never received any communication requesting anything.Regarding this claim, I can tell you that the claim is not resolved to our satisfactionWhile true, we are not looking for any further work to be done by this contractor as his work is untrustworthy and there is no point in repairing sloppy work with more sloppy, irresponsible workHowever, we do believe it is extremely important for others to be aware of the issues with this contractor so that they will reconsider using him.The responses from [redacted] are quite unbelievableIn fact, not only does he have the wrong name for us, he may be illiterate based upon his spelling and grammar, and furthermore, he is definitely a liarHe goes to great lengths to blame everything on the decorator we used, and claims we were not available to speak with himThis is an outright lie as he had our cellphones and would have been able to contact us at any timeFurthermore, he claims to have called us to try to respond to our complaints- again this is a lie as he never called or spoke to us about thisWe did contact him once to ask about some of these issues and he was completely disinterested and denied there would be any problemThat was the last contact we had with [redacted] He never called us back, we never hung up on himHe is fabricating a story to suit his needs. We certainly cannot explain why he has gone since without any complaintsHowever, our neighbor had similar issues with his quality of work (which he alludes to in his response, but again tries to blame it on the decorator)I can tell you that [redacted] told us when we hired him that he used to work for another company and that he has only been out on his own for somewhere around years- he either misrepresented himself to us, or he is doing so in his reply when he states his business has been in business since 1989.Furthermore, at the completion of the job, when [redacted] and his assistant removed their truck and trailer from our driveway, our nanny witnessed them knock over our mailbox across the street as they backed out of the drivewayThey got out of the car, propped it upright, and drove offThey never came to acknowledge what they didTo this day the post is loose and crookedAdditionally, since we first filed the complaint, one of the globes on the light fisture installed by [redacted] fell off and brokeWhen we went to reorder a replacement, we were informed by the saleperson that the lights installed by [redacted] were to point upward, not hang down- another wrong doing by [redacted] ***Though we are sure he will try to blame that on the decorator also.We have gone through his responses below in colored font to reply to his responses. We understand that our recourse at this time is small claims court or to sue MrSotoWe contacted the Revdex.com so that we could warn other customers about [redacted] and his company We hope there is a way to publish the concerns that we have regarding MrSotoWe truly wish someone had done this for us prior to our hiring him.Thank you[redacted]

Our experience with the Dream Team Construction Cowas nothing short of excellentJohn Sotos' carpentry work is beyond wordsTo physically see his finished work is the only way to appreciate his talentPrecise and accurate measurements to get it right is the only thing that will be acceptable to MrSoto, otherwise the job is not completeWe HIGHLY recommend the Dream Team

Signed a contract with John Soto of Dream Team Construction for a kitchen renovation that started in late June of in my Williamsville, NY homeThis involved refacing the existing cupboards, adding crown molding, installing quartz counter tops, kitchen sink and back splash along with refacing cupboards in my half bathHe even installed my new gas range along with installing a gas hookupTook approximately days to complete
Was very impressed with the overall outcome of the reno as well as with John's meticulous work and quality Most notably was the amount of time and intricate work that John put in to install my back splash that was very detailed and required plenty of cutting of the glass tilesIt was like watching an artist at workI absolutely love the results and have received tons of compliments regarding the renoAm considering hiring the Dream Team to fill in my in ground pool in the future and already have referred him to friends that also need work done I highly recommend the Dream Team for any kind of renovations or other work that you need done in your home as he does it all..from roofing, basement, kitchen and bathroom renovations to additions and much moreI give him and his team an A++++

Before choosing John Soto's Dream Team Construction, we had several quotes and less than impressive kitchen designs for our old and tired kitchen. When John came over to see what we wanted to do, he was receptive to our ideas, provided samples of what products he uses, a working sketch of our new kitchen layout, and a fair quote. Our kitchen design required new electrical, plumbing, structural work, cabinets, and a counter top. All were completed with expertise and in a timely manner. John went above and beyond to ensure the project was done before Christmas and made sure we were happy before he accepted final payment. I would highly recommend John Soto and Dream Team Construction if you want professional and quality work done in your home.

response to " was in a hurry" Dream team construction spent an additional 8 days on the job because nor the customer or decorator had the correct quantity of materials or the proper materials for the project at the job site at the start of the job which was agreed in our general contract agreement. On the contrary the job sat idle waiting for materials

In response to "They placed wall tile before cabinets and tile slid down " The product used to adhere tile to wall supplied by decorator requires no support the tile is fully cured to wall on contact and would be impossible to slide down. The decorator was notified that the tile that she purchased was crookedly placed on the sheet and that it would be crooked on wall and that there is no way to correct problem with out returning product to store the decorator said " the customer realizes this and it was part of the design" again I did not receive any correspondence back about this issue and followed the decorators direction because that is what they wanted me to do in previous discussion. 4. She insisted in spite of my direction which would was take this product back and use latex modified thin set . Her exact words were " just use it john I trust my supplier I've been using them for years" so I used it. Here are pictures of project  See for your self terrible paint job I don't think so. 7. In response to " we spent thousands of dollars on this project and now have to spend thousands more to repair what he did" I personally understand there anger however when I was contacted by mr scorma about the problems he asked me what I thought. I called him back to set an appointment and  He stated " I don't want you at my house ! Don't come over here"  I said " well then there is nothing I can do" Our contract specifically states that the customer must let the contractor do what ever the contractor is willing to do to correct any issues and they will not even let us in. I am assuming that they are still in contact with there decorator and are taking direction from her We will not do any more work with her firm due to another job that we had similar problems with after this job There is also a criminal investigation in place by Amherst police department that may involve her Which I can't comment any further on at this time. The decorator in my opinion is the problem I am assuming that she lied to cover her own wrong doings to protect her profits and name very early on in this project. Hello. I received the email below from the Revdex.com on 1/14/16 for the first time. In your email, you state the claim is closed because you did not receive a response back from me to confirm the claim was resolved. That is because I never received any communication requesting anything.Regarding this claim, I can tell you that the claim is not resolved to our satisfaction. While true, we are not looking for any further work to be done by this contractor as his work is untrustworthy and there is no point in repairing sloppy work with more sloppy, irresponsible work. However, we do believe it is extremely important for others to be aware of the issues with this contractor so that they will reconsider using him.The responses from [redacted] are quite unbelievable. In fact, not only does he have the wrong name for us, he may be illiterate based upon his spelling and grammar, and furthermore, he is definitely a liar. He goes to great lengths to blame everything on the decorator we used, and claims we were not available to speak with him. This is an outright lie as he had our cellphones and would have been able to contact us at any time. Re: complaint from [redacted]
To: Revdex.com
font-size: 12.8px; font-family: arial, sans-serif;">This is our formal response to the posted complaint by [redacted]
1. In response to "did not do anything correctly "
All products supplied by owners interior decorator were installed according to manufacturers guidelines.
2. In response to " was in a hurry"
Dream team construction spent an additional 8 days on the job because nor the customer or decorator had the correct quantity of materials or the proper materials for the project at the job site at the start of the job which was agreed in our general contract agreement.
On the contrary the job sat idle waiting for materials
[redacted] was out of town while we did this job and would not communicate directly with me he directed all communication through his decorator
When issues came up his decorator would not tell [redacted] the truth which was she ordered the wrong amount of tile materials and the wrong fan which came in late and then when she was told that this fan was not the write one, she insisted that it was and that's the one the customer wanted
We waited patiently for material to be delivered to job
We even went beyond our responsibility to get the materials from vendors
We were also told that project had to be completed by the time the customer returned from vacation by the customer and decorator.
They were trying to rush us.
3. In response to "They placed wall tile before cabinets and tile slid down "
The product used to adhere tile to wall supplied by decorator requires no support the tile is fully cured to wall on contact and would be impossible to slide down.
4. In response to " did not install fan appropriately so fan did not work"
The fan was installed according to directions and working as designed to work at final inspection by customer.
5. In response to " tile floor was not prepped correctly "
The existing tile floor was completely removed we installed new 3/4 plywood subfloor and 1/2 cement board underlayment which was all fastened directly to joist in the entire bathroom.
The sub floor and underlayment thickness combined exceeded any requirement for deflection for that tile
However again the premixed mortar to adhere the tile to subfloor was supplied by decorator and when I questioned the decorator about the product and why she wanted to use it she insisted that the supplier of the tile and adhesives Said it was the proper product to use
Under the decorator direction I used the product. She insisted in spite of my direction which would was take this product back and use latex modified thin set . Her exact words were " just use it john I trust my supplier I've been using them for years" so I used it. Now the customer assumes I did something wrong but never returned any of my phone calls regarding any thing while they were away.
6. In response to " the paint job was terrible "
The job was final inspected by [redacted] and his wife and decorator they stated it was beautiful " I stated I was not happy with the trim paint on existing casings however the owners and decorator said they wanted to keep that moulding because it matched the rest of house and it was custome made. However there were only a few imperfections along the deep groves in the trim and they were happy so I was happy. Here are pictures of project

See for your self terrible paint job I don't think so.
7. In response to " we spent thousands of dollars on this project and now have to spend thousands more to repair what he did"
I personally understand there anger however when I was contacted by mr scorma about the problems he asked me what I thought. I called him back to set an appointment and  He stated " I don't want you at my house ! Don't come over here"  I said " well then there is nothing I can do"
Our contract specifically states that the customer must let the contractor do what ever the contractor is willing to do to correct any issues and they will not even let us in.
I am assuming that they are still in contact with there decorator and are taking direction from her
We will not do any more work with her firm due to another job that we had similar problems with after this job
There is also a criminal investigation in place by Amherst police department that may involve her
Which I can't comment any further on at this time.
The decorator in my opinion is the problem I am assuming that she lied to cover her own wrong doings to protect her profits and name very early on in this project. And the customer is not aware of all of the communications that took place between their decorator and my self during the course of there job
8. In response to "he never seemed concerned or come out to inspect"
I called [redacted] back to set appointment he said" we don't want you back out to our house" and hung up the phone never even alowing me to say or do anything
I called him back he didn't answer my call.
My hands were tied
And he is in violation of our agreement
We are still willing to address any issues that would have been our fault.
9. In response to" he is completely untrustworthy"
