Dream Team Tickets, Inc. Reviews (10)

I was writing back to respond to the Revdex.com complaint. Dream Team tickets is a private secondary ticketing agency. We are not associated/affiliated nor do we work alongside with primary sellers (theatres, box offices, venues). All of our ticket prices are sold at above face value. We provide this...

information in detail in the Terms and Policies of the transactions. Customers can never be “redirected” to our site. We would be happy to provide all Terms that must be accepted at the time the order is submitted. The setting is defaulted to “NO” that means the customer must physically move the mouse over to “YES” to accept the Terms and proceed with the transaction.

If and when a customer calls to complain about the price printed on the ticket versus what they paid, we explain again in detail that we are a secondary seller and sell our tickets for above face value. If they ask us to adjust the price of the ticket and/or their order, we cannot do so as ticket prices are non negotiable. I hope this helps. Please be sure to respond or call me if you need further assistance.

Thanks

Wow I sure wish I knew about this before purchasing tickets!! They are nothing but a rip off company. I purchased tickets and paid 74.00 each then I got the tickets from another person and the tickets are worth 29.00 each!! And on the tickets it plainly states can't be resold??? That means nothing!! I don't even what to go to the show - I feel awful that I was taken - and nobody cares!!!

Review: I attempted to purchase tickets on-line with Orpheum Theatre. The website redirected me to a Dream Team Tickets. I purchased tickets for $125 and was upset when I received the tickets. The tickets were valued at only $75.00. I purchase 3 tickets and the total cost to me was $446.00. I was never told that I was purchasing $75.00 tickets for $125. When I requested a refund for the difference of $150.00, I was told all sales are final.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for $150.00 or this company should be put out of business for it's abusive and dishonest business practices.

Review: Dream Team Tickets unfairly, using non-specific language over charges their customers. Key components of the transaction are discussed vaguely at best.

The language on the website as you are going through and purchasing your tickets, does have vague disclaimers about purchase price. Stating that the prices may be above OR BELOW face value. Upon researching my ticket purchase, the other top 5 google searches lead me to what I now know as other over-charging ticket vendors. So, of course the price looked similar.

The service charge I received of $35.00 per ticket, was in no way communicated until after I clicked the purchase button, and I saw a detailed summary of my purchase.

Not only was I charged double over the original ticket prices, but I was also charged a service fee per ticket that was not made clear until after the purchase.

Shame on you for taking advantage of innocent people, and then, based on the other posted complaints I see here, not being willing at all to work with the customers when they feel they have been mislead and are asking a refund.Desired Settlement: Refund of purchase. Please do not send tickets and refund my credit card.

Business' Initial Response

To Whom It May Concern:

We are a secondary reseller of entertainment tickets and it is stated and we acknowledge that we resell tickets for a price different than the face value. The customer got exactly what was purchased at the stated retail price to which she agreed and ALL SALES ARE FINAL, as she acknowledged on the order.

We are ticket brokers reselling tickets on the secondary market at current prevailing market prices. The customer placed an order on July 27, 2013 for 2 tickets to the [redacted] performance via an online website. We confirmed the order on the same date. We confirmed that the credit card billing address matched the address given by the customer via CVV2 and AVS exact address match. As this was an online purchase, the customer must have the card in her possession to identify the correct CVV. The tickets were sent to the customer's confirmed billing address on July 30, 2013 via Federal Express Standard 2-day delivery. Per Fedex delivery confirmation report, the package was delivered on August 2, 2013 to the customer's confirmed billing address. Thus, the sale was completed. There is no dispute that the tickets were received.

The customer is claiming an overcharge. However, we disagree. The customer purchased tickets from a secondary resellers' website that has NO affiliation to any primary ticket vendors, thus our retail price differs from the amount noted on the actual face of the ticket. This is noted on the secondary websites where she placed the order. Furthermore, she stated that she compared the prices to "other over-charging ticket vendors" and the "price looked similar." Thus, this reiterates our feelings that we price our tickets competitively on the secondary market.

The customer is given a total prior to confirming a purchase. This includes the service fee the website charges. Because the transaction occurs online, there are numerous steps that the customer must go through and "confirm" prior to the purchase, including agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, which clearly states that "All Sales are Final." Each time the customer must "click" a confirmation to go to the next screen. As noted in the receipt, the customer was well aware of the total retail price of $350.36 prior to purchasing the tickets. We have a copy of the original order details the customer sees prior to purchasing. If the customer can show that the amount charge was not the amount she was given prior to purchase, then she has a stronger argument, however I strongly doubt this to be the case.

In addition, once the transaction is completed, an email of the sales invoice is automatically emailed to the customer at her provided email address. On the invoice, it is clearly disclosed that "Dream Team Tickets is an independent ticket agency and is not affiliated with any box office, venue, or Ticketmaster. Tickets are sold above face value due to the cost of obtaining premium and sold out events." Thus, there is no surprise as to the final price.

Not until the customer received her tickets and saw the actual face value was she upset about the markup. This is strictly a case of buyer's remorse after the fact. First, there is no requirement that the original face value be disclosed as that is not germane to the transaction. The customer was purchasing the tickets via a secondary seller's retail site (which we do not power); thus all tickets are listed at their retail price. Our tickets are listed alongside other brokers on this national website. The section and row is disclosed, along with the retail price. The customer obviously found our tickets to be competitively priced, as she chose our tickets at the listed retail price. Had she chosen another set of tickets, she would have been directed to a different broker to fill her order at their stated retail price. If our tickets weren't already competitively priced in the marketplace, it would not have sold.

Again, we are a reseller of tickets at secondary market prices. Sometimes the prices are higher than face value and sometimes they are lower, depending on market conditions, which means depending on supply and demand. The customer received the tickets she purchased at the agreed upon retail price at the time of purchase. She agreed to the terms and conditions that all sales are final and we have forwarded her service fee charges to the company that powered the website. These service fees are NOT kept by us and we must pay it regardless. Thus, we shouldn't bear the cost of these fees because the customer feels she was misled and made a mistake in the purchase.

Again, we price our tickets at our retail price. We list the section and row. The customer chose those tickets. She affirmatively checked the box agreeing to the terms and conditions, which explicitly states that all sales are final. She received the ordered tickets. Thus we have a completed sales contract and no additional remedy needs to be recognized.

Review: In may I order 4 tickets for [redacted] concert In Pico Rivera, the cost of each ticket was $135 plus their processing fee and shipping, but I got surprised when they charge my card for $700.00.Ahead of time I called the company and ask to change me the date of the concert because we cut not assist the one on may and they agreed with a equivalent ticket price. I receive the tickets on June 25th and each ticket is mark down for the price of $85.00 per ticket.I called the company to get an explanation for the extra charges, because they never send me an invoice until I called and ask for one and they e-mail it to me on June 18 what they cut say is shipping and there processing fees which I think is ridicules. The tickets cost $85x4=$340 +25 shipping = $365 and I think $355.00 for there service fees is a robbery. They don't want to refund anything.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the refund of my money and return there tickets.

Response:

Mrs. [redacted] order initially came to us on May 9 for the [redacted] show scheduled at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena May 25. She called that she had a scheduling conflict and could not make the schedule show. As a courtesy, we allowed and exchange to the [redacted] show scheduled later this year on Oct 18. Please be advised that our Terms and Policies state all sales are final, there are no refunds and/or exchanges UNLESS the event is cancelled. Because Mrs. [redacted] was in such predicament, we went out of our way to accomodate her and her request to exchange. We could have simply denied the exchange all together and she would have been unable to use her originally ordered tickets.

After the exchange was granted, Mrs. [redacted] asked for an invoice, at the time, we could only provide the original voided invoice, as the new invoice had not yet been created. On June 20, the new invoice with the replacement DATE and SEATS was issued. At this point the tickets for the new date were shipped. Mrs. [redacted] called this morning after receiving the package to complain about price. As you can see from both invoices (attached), the transaction amount remains the same. She was not charged any additional fees on her order. In regards to her complaint about the price on the ticket being different than what she paid, she was reminded that she bought tickets from a private ticket agency and that all tickets are sold at above face value. We are not the primary seller for this event. The price printed on the ticket is the face value...that is the amount she would have paid had she purchased her tickets directly from the venue and/or Ticketmaster. However, she did not. She purchased them on a secondary ticket website, which provided detailed information, that she was buying event tickets at above face value.

I re-explained all this information to Mrs. [redacted] earlier this morning. I even resent her the original confirmation to show the breakdown of charges. Her order does not qualify for a refund and/or price adjustment. In fact, we went above and beyond to assist her. Please advise if there is any additional information you need from our agency.

Thanks

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I understand they sale tickets on above price from the original price. What I don't think is legal is that they over charge EXTRA FEES which are not specify in there policy, they never gave me an original invoice since I place my order, until I call them and ask for one that was on June 18. I wanted to see why they charge me $700.00 when I original order 4 tickets for $135.00 each plush shipping.

A complete ripoff! Do not use this website to purchase tickets! They say they are not affiliated w/Ticketmaster, yet the tickets we rec'd were imprinted with the Ticketmaster name. The site charged us double the face value of the ticket and then added an add'l 35% Service Charge! and $15 to mail the tickets 3 months before the performance! No venue is worth being subjected to this kine of ripoff! I hope they get sued one day!

Review: Poor business ethics and extreme high price mark-ups, false advertisement

I was recommended to a website called [redacted] to purchase tickets for a show at the Houston Events Center for [redacted] on November 28th. On April 16th I purchased 2 tickets through this website which had sent me tickets through a business called Dream tickets. I thought I was getting a good deal with great seats but once I got the tickets last night I noticed that face value was only $125.00, but they charged me $228.00 each! Desired Settlement: If I had known that they were marking each ticket up over $100 I would have not purchased them from this company.

In March 2014 I purchased two tickets from LocalTicket.com for The Lion King. Since it was so early in the year, I had to wait for the tickets which finally arrived in June. Tickets were a birthday gift from me to my Grandson. The tickets that I purchased was for $125.00 each which offered them prime seats however when I received the tickets the value of each ticket was $75.00 each. I contacted Dream Team Tickets, spoke to "Grace", and her only explanation was the face value is always going to be different than what you purchase online. I told her I wanted $150.00 refund she said the tickets "always cost more than the face value". I told her I was filing a complaint with my credit card company. She simply said "OK"

Review: DTTickets acknowledges the fact that that the price on the tickets are different from retail (exorbitantly high markup) only AFTER the sale is made.

The original on line order detail of this merchant does not fully disclose who they are or what a consumer is purchasing. Nowhere on the order detail does the consumer see that tickets are sold above face value (tickets are marked up exorbitantly ). This information appears on the Sales invoice NOT the Order invoice. Obviously the merchant is not being transparent in its dealings with consumers. The merchant provides key information concerning purchases after the purchase order has been made, slipping the verbiage in after the the sale is final. Do not deal with this merchant!Desired Settlement: Stop unethical business practices.

Business' Initial Response

We disagree with the customer's assertions. She went to a secondary ticket website, with which we list our tickets. She chose our tickets out of the many options (from other listing brokers) at our listed retail price. She picked the section she wanted to be in and received those exact tickets. She's now complaining that we didn't disclose the actual face value. Again, this is a secondary reseller's market. There is no requirement to list the face value. The website explicitely states that tickets are sold above face value. Her confirmation order details the exact retail price. After receiving the tickets, she became upset because she paid over face value. She filed a chargeback case with her credit card company, in which we responded and the credit card company sided with us. Here is a copy of the response:

To Whom It May Concern:

We are requesting that you reverse the dispute referenced above because merchandise (3 tickets to the [redacted] performance on June 8, 2013 at 2:00pm at the [redacted] in [redacted] was shipped timely and received by the customer (delivery confirmation attached). Thus, our obligation was fulfilled and no chargeback should be allowed. We are a secondary reseller of entertainment tickets and it is stated and we acknowledge that we resell tickets for a price different than the face value. The customer got exactly what was purchased at the stated retail price to which she agreed and ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

We are ticket brokers reselling tickets on the secondary market at current prevailing market prices. The customer placed an order on May 23, 2013 for 3 tickets to the [redacted] performance via an online website. We confirmed the order on the same date. We confirmed that the credit card billing address matched the address given by the customer via [redacted] and [redacted] exact address match. As this was an online purchase, the customer must have the card in her possession to identify the correct CVV. The tickets were sent to the customer's confirmed billing address on May 23, 2013 via Federal Express Standard 2-day delivery. Per Fedex delivery confirmation report, the package was delivered on May 29, 2013 to the customer's confirmed billing address. The online tracking of the packages states that it was left at the front door due to the customer's release authorization. Thus, the sale was completed. Since the merchandise has been properly delivered to the confirmed billing address and the sale was finalized, there is no reason to give the customer a chargeback. There is no dispute that the tickets were received.

The customer is claiming that merchandise received was not as described or defective. However, we disagree. She received exactly what she ordered. As mentioned earlier, the only "difference" in her mind is that she paid $120 per ticket and the tickets received had a face value of $85 (not including fees). As we explained, the customer purchased tickets from a secondary resellers' website that has NO affiliation to any primary ticket vendors, thus our retail price differs from the amount noted on the actual face of the ticket. I have provided a copy of the receipt (original order details) the customer sees prior to confirming a purchase. She also provided her receipt from www.localtickets.com, which shows the same details. Because the transaction occurs online, there are numerous steps that the customer must go through and "confirm" prior to the purchase, including agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, which clearly states that "All Sales are Final." Each time the customer must affirmatively "click" a confirmation to go to the next screen. As noted in the receipt under "seen by customer", the customer was well aware of the total retail price of $450.60 prior to purchasing the tickets, with the chosen tickets being in Section Orch Lft, Row N.

In addition, once the transaction is completed, an email of the sales invoice (#XXXXXX in this case) is automatically emailed to the customer on the same day to her provided email ([redacted]@bresnan.net). On the invoice, it is clearly disclosed that "Dream Team Tickets is an independent ticket agency and is not affiliated with any box office, venue, or Ticketmaster. Tickets are sold above face value due to the cost of obtaining premium and sold out events." A copy of this invoice has also been included in the support documentation. Thus, there is no surprise as to the final price. Furthermore, it is disclosed that "All sales are Final."

Again, we are a reseller of tickets at secondary market prices. Sometimes the prices are higher than face value and sometimes they are lower, depending on market conditions. Pursuant to our time stamped notes, we spoke to the customer on May 31, 2013. She was unhappy that the face value of the tickets were not disclosed on the website she purchased tickets from. We explained that it was not required as we're a ticket brokering company and we sell above the face value. The customer received the tickets she purchased at the agreed upon retail price at the time of purchase, thus no chargeback for any difference should be allowed. The customer provided copies of the exact tickets received. Rhetorically speaking, if they were fraudulent tickets, wouldn't we just put the price she paid as the face value of the tickets? The fact remains that the tickets were 100% authentic and valid (purchased as a group block directly from the theatre in which no other customer has complained about not getting admitted) and she maintained possession of the items passed the actual performance date. She has not provided any proof that she was denied admission nor that the tickets were invalid. We should not have to bear the loss of the value of the tickets because of her own buyer's remorse.

Sincerely,

Dream Team Tickets

Enclosure: Customer Original Order Details, Sales Invoice #XXXXXX, Federal Express Delivery Confirmation, credit card address verification

There is nothing deceptive about our sales practices. We provide a service to obtain tickets to events. We charge a retail price. The customer chose to buy these tickets on her own free will. To complain after the fact is strictly a case of buyer's remorse.

Consumer's Final Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

My intent for submitting a complaint to the Revdex.com is to offer other consumers the opportunity to be aware of the business practices of this merchant. My family still has a roof over their heads and food on the table and my time is valuable. I have chosen not to pursue spending additional time with this merchant's bank to obtain a credit.

I stand by my original complaint and encourage all consumers to beware. The merchant should clearly disclose who they are and what product they are providing before the transaction is complete not once it is complete. Please note the following from the current response of the merchant

"ONCE THE TRANSACTION IS COMPLETED, an email of the sales invoice is automatically emailed to the customer on the same day to her provided email .

Response:

[redacted] placed her ticket order through a secondary seller website, in it it explained she was buying from an agency not affiliated with the theatre. It explained tickets were being sold at above face value as well as detailed a future ship date on her order. I have included in this reply a copy of her invoice, which has this information detailed. Unfortunately we will not be able to refund the difference that was billed above the face value- we do not sell tickets for face value and the price of the transaction was agreed upon by [redacted] when she placed her order. Prices are non negotiable. When she called to voice her complaint, she explained that she was going to file a complaint with her credit card company. We will respond to the credit card dispute with the same information.
