I bought a Dremel Multipro 7700 http://www.dremel.com/en-us/tools/pages/ToolDetail.aspx?pid=7700 and only used it about twice before the battery charger died. I bought a new charger on Amazon, and it only charged one battery before it died, then I read the reviews on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-758-01-Battery-Charger-7700-01/dp/B000WMDEM2/ref=cm... and realized that EVERYONE is having the same problem. I contacted Dremel, and they want me to ship the whole thing back to them, and "if" they can fix it under warrenty, they will. Thing is, Amazon sells the whole thing (tool, battery, charger) for $38. The post office wants $18 for signature verification delivery, so shippind both ways will cost almost as much as a whole new tool. Why would I be stupid enough to do this. Dremel obviously has a design problem with their chargers, and should just solve their own problem, then do the right thing and give us working chargers.

I bought a Dremel 4000 rotary tool, and after about a month of sporadic light use the tool completely died. Customer service said I needed to ship it to the repair center at my own cost. They fixed the tool and sent it back but forgot to put the collet back on the tool so I had to go out and buy one of those before I could use the tool again. Customer service said that they couldn't reimburse any of my cost (to say nothing about inconvenience and lost time), but they would be happy to give me some free accessories which sounded great except that they couldn't give me any of the accessories that I wanted (these accessories were not expensive. Most of the ones I asked for were less than the money I had already wasted on fixing their mistakes). In the end they sent me the smallest cheapest set of cutting attachments that they had.

I guess I'm just spoiled with the good customer service at quality companies where they take responsibility for their mistakes and actually put resources into making sure you have a good experience with their product. This is not one of those companies.
