The above mentioned customer has been to our dealership on three occasions I will break down each repair order below with a detailed description A little back ground regarding the customers scooter He owns a
*** *** *** *** *** with approx *** miles The life span on one of these scooters is normally 25,000~30,miles and this has been explained to *** *** on several occasions
The scooter was brought to us in *** and according to *** *** report bike had not ran for two years and prior to that was in accident We were asked to repair the accident damage and get the bike running We replaced the broken parts on the scooter (brake lever, clutch lever) and did a general maintenance (new battery, oil, oil filter, drive belt, rollers) Total cost of parts ***, Labor ***, Shop Supplies $***, Disposal Fee $*** for a total of $*** Bike was picked up and customer left happy He contacted us the next day and stated that the bike would not go over miles per hour We explained we could not test the bike above the posted speed limit on our streets and that scooter was not designed for freeway riding Out of courtesy we picked up ** *** scooter to bring in for further testing
Date: 6/17/
RO No:
Bike was picked up at no charge to the customer and brought to our dealership for further diagnosing We replaced the regulator and installed a new rear tire that the customer provided us (Labor $8***, Parts 68.15, Total of $ Even though our previous work had nothing to do with the problem *** *** had experienced we did not charge the customer our $12*** pickup fee**. *** picked up his bike and left happy
Customer brought his scooter in for a routine oil change and supplied his own oil and filter We did the oil change (Labor ***) and customer left happy
Last week *** *** called and stated his scooter had stopped running and demanded we pickup his scooter and provide him with a rental car We again explained that a scooter with such high mileage can experience running issues and he would need to bring the bike in for us to diagnose He demanded free pickup of his scooter and rental car and that is not something we are willing to do
If *** *** wants to bring in his scooter we would be happy to look at it and diagnose the problem If the running issue has anything to do with the work we did we would be happy to fix it at no charge to him If the bike is experiencing something new then **. *** would be liable for the charges
We remain at your disposal if you have any further questions

One some of the story is incorrectI have called and spoke with other *** dealers and they said that these bikes are made for long term useAs far as the accident there was no accident with this bike, just that the EFI light was coming on and I mentioned that it needed a full lookoverI have since found out that they left numerous things UNCHECKED (i.e the brakes, the belt and possibly the engine) things that if checked would not have made my bike stop in the middle of a busy intersectionOn top of this, after taking to another bike mechanic that knows *** bikes well and works on *** ***'s on a regular basis they found that the battery was not working AT ALL, they charged it overnight and are still trying to determine what happened.
The first visit I will not say I left 100% happy as it took them numerous weeks to even look at my bike as they were constantly "BEHIND", something they neglected to mention to me upfrontAfter two weeks of waiting and basically trying to get an update they finally gave me an estimate.
I also did not contact the shop the next day I contacted them the same day after taking it home as I felt the bike was not doing what it was designed to doThey at that time basically said it wasn't designed for freeway driving which is as this bike (according to numerous dealers and myself from experience) is built to go 70+ miles per hour.
I will agree that they did bring the bike in at their expense and did fix the bike at their expense (minus the regulator) and this time I was happy as the bike rode the way it was designed to
This company has countlessly told me that there are more and more issues and I just feel that they want to try and get more money out of me
Later today my other mechanic will finish the work and if more problems arose when they looked at it including the fact that the regulator, battery or anything else they (*** ***) worked on I will be forced to file a claim in small claims court.
In retrospect, I should have never went to or left my bike with this shop as they do not even sell these bikes so they are NOT EXPERTS with themThey may be experts in racing bikes but they have very little knowledge about these scooters
Regards,
*** ***
