Review: I had employed a Realtor to help me find a place to live with two other people in New York. After searching, we landed on a property managed by Dreyfus Realty. I was starting a new job working 60 hours a week and the two people I was to be living with did not speak English as their first language. After Signing a lease (which my father did on my behalf as my guarantor) we were told that all was well. We then received an email from Dreyfus saying that we were going to lose the apartment because a deposit had not been paid. After attempting to contact the [redacted] multiple times (and leaving multiple messages) I contacted the building's superintendent, who I had met before. He said everything was fine. After digging I figured I would give the super a check for the deposit amount. He took it and when I tried to contact the [redacted], I was told by our Realtor that he no longer wanted to deal with any of us. After repeated attempts to call our contact there, I gave up and found another place by myself. All our money was returned (since they did not fulfill their end of the contract) But the childlike way I was treated is absolutely deplorable. No business should work this way. Had someone from Dreyfus contacted me via phone, like an adult, this issue would have been resolved. Even if they decided not to work with me, I would feel better having spoken to them. Instead, I was treated like a 12 year old and caused undo stress.Desired Settlement: Date Sent: [redacted]My desired outcome is that they figure out where the breakdown in communication was and provide an explanation.
