Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Mr [redacted] of River City Roofing did not answer truthfullyThe 30% of the roof that was installed was not done correctly and all materials needed to finish were not on the "job site" at our propertyAfter the crew had cracked our porch and dumped debris on top of my wife's flowerbed on Sunday, Monday when [redacted] showed up, my wife did tell him that "she was angry enough to shoot something" because of all the damage and trash everywhereMr [redacted] did not file a police report because he did not have grounds to do so and I have checked with the Gonzales County Sheriffs Deptto verify thatNo guns were pulled on anyone by either of usWe could of filed a complaint on Mr [redacted] for the damagesHe did settle with our attorney because of photographic evidence on damages, and an incorrect installation of metal roofing If we had gone to court, the cost would of been much higherAs for drinking at o'clock, they crew was usually gone by then so how would he know? Mr [redacted] is complaining about phone calls made in the evening, he did not return calls till thenAll we wanted was to have our home repaired from major hail damage and go on with our lives We have had numerous workers at our home doing repairs and they all will testify that they will work at our home anytime, that we treat them very wellWe were never belligerent with the crew, ***, or Mr [redacted] The problem with Mr [redacted] is that he would not even verify the work the crew had done, so he doesn't know how bad it wasHe even had driven close by to pick up a deposit check from one of our neighbors and lied about being in the area Regards, [redacted]

August 2, *** *** In regards to the *** case, I was in fear of my workers being shot and their safety is
a necessity to being alive. I believe any owner would be fearful if a client of theirs threatened to pull out a gun and hold their contractors at gun point. I estimate three roof jobs a week, and do a lot of work. This is only the second time in sixteen years that I have been sued. The contractors on the job stated that the ***s would start drinking liquor everyday around p.m. By the time the contractors were done working for the day, the clients were belligerent. That would explain the numerous harassing phone calls I would receive daily after p.mevery evening during the duration of the job. Most of the time, the conversations made no sense. On the fourth day on the job, my contractors were about to finish installation and Mr*** told them NO! They were to clean the entire perimeter before he would allow them to continue with the installation. The superintendent ***, told Mr***, that it is a construction job and that they clean everything up upon completion of the installation. Mrs***, took ***, the superintendent, around the side of the house and told him, “Look, I’ve taken my out of the safe and it’s on the bed!” “I’m about to come outside and start making your guys clean up at gunpoint!” *** called me in fear of his life, and asked what he should do. I made the call to pull all of the contractors off the job, for fear of their safety and someone being shot dead. The roof was 85% completed when my crew pulled off the job site. I went to the Sheriff’s Department and filed a complaint so that I would have a record of what occurred. (See attached). I then received a letter that I was being sued by the ***s. I refunded their money back, plus any damages and attorney fees. The amount paid to them by River City Roofing was $10,550. They received a roof that was 85% complete, plus all the material to finish the job, and their money back. As for as I see it, this case is resolved. I could have gone to court, and fought with them over the fact that they threatened my contractors at gun point. I didn’t.
