Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because we have requested [redacted] on numerous occasion to give us a detailed list of the time and materials he actually spent at our home.  His only response is to hire himself a lawyer to intimidate us and keep the $10,000 we paid him.  We have since learned that [redacted] has been sued by consumers at least two times in the past.  In both cases he lost.  It seems that he did not even appear in court since he knew the evidence was overwhelmingly against him.  I would be happy to give you the actual court cases and dates if you find it difficult to find on your own.  [redacted] apparently uses his different business names to obscure his record from potential customers.
We are appealing to the Revdex.com so that other consumers may avoid being robbed by [redacted] as we have been.  Obviously he uses his lawyer as a weapon and the consumer's best defense is an agency such as yours to report him.  I have attached a copy of the letter I sent in response to his second lawyer letter.  Please note the lawyer never contacted us to see the defective work.   It is impossible to reach a compromise with someone who has taken your money and refuses to speak with you.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: We signed a $20,000 contract with [redacted]/Driveway Plus/[redacted], to provide drainage, build us a stone wall, stone steps, and install a sidewalk made of pavers. We gave him $10,000 cash. He began demolition on June 25th when we were still on vacation but our neighbor reported that he arrived in the afternoon and only spent a few hours. Subsequently, [redacted] appeared at our house for more demo work on a number of non-consecutive days. He would arrive after 9:30 a.m. and be gone before 3 on the days he did appear. Usually he had another worker with him. Some nonfunctioning drainage pipes were laid. One morning he arrived with a heavy truck filled with construction debris and boulders that was dumped on our yard. He arranged these enormous boulders in a line and then began to concrete together a pile of leftover stone next to them. The next morning he announced that he had a family emergency in Florida and would be gone for a few days. That day, he placed some pavers by our house so that we would have something to walk on above the mud. We gradually began to realize that his pile of cast-off boulders was, in his opinion, his finished product and the pile of stone and concrete was supposedly the finished stone steps. The drainage was ineffective and the pavers installed incorrectly. [redacted] was still in Florida (his few days stretching out to now over 10) so we sent him an e-mail detailing our dissatisfaction. When he finally returned from Florida, he disputed our objections trying to extract more money, but at this point we realized that he was not capable of doing the job, and had duped us. We responded again with another letter and finally convinced him to leave. He misrepresented his abilities and left us with inferior materials and defective work. Everything he did needs to be removed and redone at great expense. We can provide many photos and witnesses as evidence.Desired Settlement: We requested that [redacted] give us a list of the time and materials that he had actually expended on our job so that we could reach an agreement and receive a partial refund of our deposit. He told us at our home on Monday, July 21, (in front of witnesses) that he would get the information to us the next day. As the days passed, with no communication from him we contacted him numerous times. Finally, on August 1, 2014 we received a letter from his lawyer with numerous factual errors and a statement to the effect that the value of his materials and labor exceeded the $10,000 we actually paid. [redacted] refused to provide any of details as he had promised. We desire at least of our deposit refunded.
