Driving MBA Reviews (3)

I have been doing business with Driving MBA for over four years. I have put two of my teenagers through their driving school and am in the process of putting my youngest and last teenager through their program. My experience with the staff and the program and a great one. The expertise the staff has and the skills they have given my children on the road has saved two of my children from red light runners. Without their program I am not sure they would be alive today. I am grateful to the entire staff, the owner/founder for creating such a program. You can entrust your children to their care and trust that they will walk away with better knowledge and skills than you can give them no matter how long you have been driving.

Good afternoon,

I really would like to provide a review on your program. I'm not on social media so please post the following review for me or explain to my daughter, [redacted] how to do so.

Positive:

1. The use of simulator is an awesome technique to help drivers recognize and prepare for dangerous road conditions/circumstances.

2. Instructors for simulators are very nice.

3. They are able to quickly obtain payment.

Negative

1. Scheduling is awful! A lady had us on the phone so long that it just became a extremely funny to my daughter and I that she couldn't get things right. @30 minutes to schedule @5 sessions.

2. They don't really tailor to your child's needs. You are expected to work with a different instructor each time. I explained my daughter's situation to 3 different people in person not including people I spoke to on the phone. They had minimum information on my child each time and program was not tailored to her needs. For instance, my daughter is 17.5 about to leave for college next month on a basketball scholarship. I explained she has been driving for two years. She took classes at [redacted] and the one ran by law enforcement officers prior to me letting her have her H3 to drive. She had a fender bender the first month of her license. In May of this year she totaled her Hummer. Thus, I sought out additional education and this place was recommended. I explained my concerns with ADD traits, distracted driving ie texting, school anxiety, radio tuning, etc., ability to know where she's at..describing location on the road, driving the speed limit etc

Her individual needs were addressed only by one instructor after half way through the stimulator session he asked if I had any specific concerns. Yes! Info had been provided twice in person and twice on phone at that point but I provided above info yet again.

3. The driving instructor:.I explained my concerns and inquired of her background experience. She said she had been at driving school for two years and was previously an English teacher. I didn't have same confidence as instructor Michael who was a police officer for 25 plus years. After the drive, she said she forgot to show my daughter hand positioning!!! So, I asked well are you going to go out and do that?? She took out a wheel cover and demonstrated??? She joked well at least we stopped for gas. [redacted], I'm paying $600 for you to stop and gas up the car?? She didn't address any of the issues that we signed up for.

4. Scheduling nightmare continues...After the orientation, the drive and 2 simulators I'm told they need to change her final simulator from 3pm to 1pm. I reluctantly agree saying I would just let my daughter drive. She gasps and says well does your daughter have a license!! Wow duh yes for 1.5 years if anyone ever read or bothered to note my concerns. I then inform her that we wanted to have the last session with Michael. She reported that he is booked for the next month. Highly doubt it but whatever...They schedule us for a month out. The same day they leave message that they can change it to the following week. They call again and say no August 14th will have to be the date!!! wow!!!! They also have her for another drive which is fine since the first was useless but point is that their records don't even reflect that she already did the drive.

5. Her first simulator instructor spent an extra 35 minutes with [redacted] because he was just nice and I wasn't there to pick her up. The second instructor obviously didnt have notes on this because he made clear [redacted] would not get credit for 6hours only 5hr and 15min because we were late for his session, smh. I told him it really doesn't matter about the certificate. Again if anyone took notes on my request to tailor program, they would have known she already had two certificates from other driving courses.

If there was a money back guarantee, I would want my money back. In 43 years I've never had to make such a complaint of defective services. Attorney of 20 years.

Our experience with Driving MBA was quite negative. We found that [redacted] refused to take accountability when many mistakes were made by her scheduling staff. The schedulers scheduled our sons final drive before his defensive driving classes. After our sons final drive the instructor asked why we scheduled the final drive before the defensive driving classes. I told her that was how the schedulers arranged it. When I emailed [redacted] about the mix up she stated that my son could do another final drive for a $120. This program was $1300 and it was the schedulers that arranged the sequence of classes this way. I did not feel that we should have to pay more when it was not our mistake. When I expressed this to [redacted] she kept restating that parents sometime choose not to follow the sequence of classes that driving MBA recommends. I kept restating that we did not choose to go out of the proper order of classes... that was the way her schedulers arranged it. We did not know this was not the correct order of classes as we had not been advised. [redacted] would not let my son do another final drive unless we paid more money. This was after we were signed up for a morning parent class at the beginning of our child's classes but were asked to move to the afternoon class. We obliged and were then told a couple days before the class that the afternoon class was canceled! At that point we could not reschedule again and make it to the morning class. Again we were out of luck and had to do the parent class late in our sons program as they only offer this class one a month. This is a class that really needs to be taken early in the program so parents can be on the same page as the program. The final straw was when our son was to take the car maintenance class. He arrived 10 minutes early to find out it was actually all the way across town at another location that had not been disclosed to us before the class. [redacted] told us that 3 other kids were not advised by the schedulers that the class was at another location and apologized. Again we were out of luck. My son was more than 40 minutes late to that car maintenance class. After speaking with other parents we now realize that we were not the only parents to have had these negative experiences with scheduling and accountability of the owner of Driving MBA. What a disappointment! Beware scheduling is a nightmare and the owner refuses to correct mistakes or be accountable.
