Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 8, 2015/11/13) */ I am writing a response to Mr [redacted] Mr [redacted] believes he should not have to pay for a procedure his dental insurance did not reimburse me forHe believes he did not have the conditions to warrant a Comprehensive Periodontal EvaluationHow does he know that? Why would you even come to me as a patient if he had already diagnosed himself? Let's say hypothetically, Mr [redacted] came to my office and he did have undiagnosed periodontal disease, but I didn't perform the evaluation because he didn't think it was necessary and his dental insurance didn't want to pay for itIf Mr [redacted] was to lose teeth in the future due to untreated periodontal disease would he hold me responsible or his dental insurance company? My job is to what's best for the patientDidn't Mr [redacted] expect that from me or does he feel his dental insurance will do what's best for him? In the end if anything goes wrong with a patient I am held responsibleI am always going to do what's best for the patient whether or not the insurance company agreesIt's Mr [redacted] 's dental insurance policy, he chose itThe policy he chose did not cover this procedureI filed his insurance as a courtesy to himI am not legally obligated to do thatI will not bill Mr [redacted] for the $I will send him a statement for the $co-payWill Mr [redacted] consider removing the bad review I believe he gave me on Yelp.com Sincerely, [redacted] DDS Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (2000, 10, 2015/11/19) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) When a provider falls under the preferred provider umbrella of Blue Cross and Blue Shield, there are rates to which the doctor and the insurance company have previously agreed uponHaving queried my insurance provider before seeking service, I know that DrIsaacson was a preferred providerThis dentist office has accepted my insurance Bottom line - in the realm of elective procedures, if you are going to bill for a procedure that isn't covered by insurance, regardless of whether you believe it to be necessary, you need to convey that information to the patient A point worth mentioning - this office has billed my insurance incorrectly on three separate occasionsThe first two incorrect billings were subsequently dropped when the dentist's billing department acknowledged there was a mistake and dropped the chargesWatching this office dig their heals in on billing practices that were previously acknowledged as mistakes during my departure as a patient is painful As I stated upon receiving my initial inaccurate invoice, I will pay for the services agreed uponAs this office is a preferred provider, the amount for twice yearly cleanings has already been negotiated by the provider and insurance company and is $ As DrIsaacson has recently stated he will bill me $25, I tentatively accept his Revdex.com response to my complaint -***
