New blouse laundered improperly and ruined. Establishment refuses to provide equitable compensation. On 09 SEP 2014 I purchased a new blouse from [redacted] in Coats, NC for $58.80 including tax. This blouse was intended for a western themed wedding and subsequent horse shows. On 19 SEP 2014 the blouse in question was dropped off at Dry Clean Spot for cleaning after being worn to the wedding. I requested that it be cold water washed and pressed. Instead they chose to dry clean it. As a result the blouse was covered with pills and loose threads and otherwise damaged due to improper handling and care such that the garment was no longer suitable for it's intended purpose. I requested that the owner call me to discuss the issue and provided my contact information. After sever weeks of no contact I called and spoke with the representative on duty and again insisted that the owner call me and again provided my contact info. in mid Nov 2014 I visited the establishment in person to find out why the owner had not contacted me. They had attempted to repair the blouse, removing the loose threads and pills, but the appearance was still unsuitable with obvious signs of scuffing and other damage. The representative offered me $20 cash or $50 store credit. That being only 30%-85% of the cost to replace a blouse only worn once for about an hour, I did not accept. Having managed a dry cleaner myself for more than 5 years I know that the International Fair Claims Guide for Consumer Textile Products, Section 6, Tables 1 & 2 indicate that for a blouse under 4 months old (this blouse was only 2 weeks old at the time it was cleaned), in excellent condition (as this one was having only been worn once for approx. an hour) the adjustment value should be 100% of the replacement cost. In the end if they had followed my request to cold was, or offered me 100% in store credit, given that it was less than 2 weeks old, I would have been satisfied.Desired SettlementAt this point I would like 100% of the replacement cost plus some allowance for the aggravation (as can be seen by the dates I have attempted to work this out with the business for the better part of 3 months), and the gas and time to drive back to the Tack store to purchase a replacement, as in-store credit. I think $75 in store credit would be fair givent the facts. I will wait to see how the business resolves this issue before I begin posting to local business review sites such as; [redacted], [redacted] & Google+ Local, [redacted], [redacted], etc...

Dropped of several items for dry clean service, when picking up the items I noticed that three of my clothing articles were damaged.Three of the items I dropped off for dry cleaning services were damaged. One shirt was returned to me with a bleach stain on the back and another shirt appeared to have been burned while being cleaned. A pair of my jeans had a stain on the back as well. Three out of five items were damaged. I contacted the dry cleaning manager and explained these concerns related to the damaged items. I was told that she would contact the owner and show him the damaged articles for review. After not receiving a return call with a solution I contacted her a second time. This particular time speaking with her she stated that she discussed this issue with her manager and that she was told she would be responsible for paying for the damaged items out of her own pocket. This put me in a very uncomfortable situation because after discussing the amount of money needed to replace the items, she said she did not have the money. I asked her if she could contact the owner again to maybe possibility file an insurance claim, since the company should have insurance for issues like this. She said she would call him and ask him. When calling me back I was told that there was nothing they can do to resolve this issue. As a result, I now have these damaged items that can't be worn.Desired SettlementWould like to be able to replace the two shirts and pair of jeans. The value is about one hundred and fifty dollars.
