Review: I dropped off 7 business shirts for dry cleaning on Friday 09/27/13. When I returned to pick them up the following week. I was informed that someone picked them up on Saturday 09/28/13, which was not me. They asked me to wait 2 weeks for someone to return items. Two weeks past, they asked for another 2 weeks. Four weeks has now past, they ask me to describe items and cost for insurance claim and to follow up in 30 days. I provided actual pictures of the items, size, color, and cost as requested . I returned in 40 days making it 2.5 months since they were reported missing. They informed me that there insurance company will not reimburse me and there is nothing they can do unless I provided the original receipts for each item. I asked them for name of insurance carrier, and [redacted] was the name provided. I called [redacted] and they have no such policy under dryclean outlet inc or owner [redacted]. Furthermore, [redacted] informed me that requesting original receipts is not protocol and insurance is provided on once they receive the property , they own the property and claims are paid to the business. Not based on whether the customer can find a 2 yr old original receipt on a $79 item. 3 months has now past with nothing but a run around and no attempt to provide my clothing or reimbursement. I am now filing suit in VA small claim court.Desired Settlement: I want my shirts back or the cost reimburse to repurchase the same shirts. I'm not asking for anything extraordinary.

Review: On Saturday, October 23, 2014, I paid for the DRYCLEAN OUTLET to dry-clean 5 items. They accepted a $10 cash payment, but only 4 of the items were returned to me when I picked them on on Saturday, November 1. After being told to search their lost and found item, a person named Milton said he'd search the entire contents of the facility and call me back on Monday, November 3.Milton did not call me as promised and over the next two weeks, I tried at least 10 times to contact him, only to be told that he was (1) not in, (2) with a customer and would I like to leave a message, or (3) no answer and the messages were full. On Saturday, November 15, 2014, I returned to the DRYCLEAN OUTLET to find out if they had located the missing garment, which was the jacket of a suit (the pants were returned, but they cannot be worn with another jacket). I was asked by a female worker to bring the pants in, even though she didn't have the jacket. I asked why she needs to see the pants, and she immediately turned to Milton and spoke in spanish. Milton did not apologize for not returning any of my calls, or for calling me as he had promised. He made no apologies for losing my jacket and REFUSED to (1) replace it or (2) provide me with the information of his insurance company. In fact, his words were "I don't have to give that information to you." He told me to return 30 days after the drop off date on the receipt (which will be on November 23rd) and THEN he would provide the information. Since he had previously lied to me, I don't believe that he will provide the information on the 30th. Why wouldn't he provide the information if it's the insurance company that replaces lost garments? There was no posted sign about how they conduct their business or replace lost items, and nothing is printed on the receipt. The manager was rude to me and laughed at me.Desired Settlement: Since the jacket was part of a suit, the entire suit needs to be replaced. A replacement suit equivalent to the one lost by the DRYCLEAN OUTLET would cost $129 for the pants and $198 for the jacket, both plus tax.

I'd also recommend that the facility be inspected by whatever authority has that jurisdiction. As soon as you walk in, you're hit with a urine stanch and the entire facility is filthy. I am certain it would not pass any health standards, but am not sure what is allowable for dry cleaning businesses. It does need to be checked out, though.

Review: Dry Clean Outlet Inc. lost my favorite purple cashmere sweater TWICE. The first time, they found it in their lost-and-found. The second time, they could not find it and denied responsibility. The sweater was part of a two-piece set, and they issued only one ticket. When the vest was returned, they said that the ticket was closed, and without a separate ticket for the cardigan I could not prove that they had lost it. Even though this just happened WITH THE SAME SWEATER a few weeks ago, they were unwilling to take any responsibility or reimburse me for the lost sweater.Desired Settlement: I want them to pay me for the sweater that they lost.
