Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: If all [redacted] broke was the wand (and that was all that needed to be replaced), then I can understand why my wife would say not to worry about it However, that is not the case As [redacted] stated, [redacted] broke the wand off where it connects to the head-rail Therefore, simply replacing the wand would do us no good, as we could not connect it to the head-rail The entire head-rail needs to be replaced However, since my wife and I believe you are only as good as your word and she confirmed that she said not to worry about it when [redacted] was at our home (although she was misinformed about what needed to be replaced), we will replace the entire head-rail ourselves My only question is, if [redacted] had no intention of replacing the head-rail (because my wife told him not to worry about it), why did he tell me he submitted the request to the home office and thought it was taken care of when I called (after he left our home)? Sincerely, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Dear Ms***
I accept your apology, and understand that it was not
*** intent to break our blind. It’s
just that growing up I was taught that if you go into someone’s home and break
something, you pay to replace it. I just
feel it is common courtesy. Anyway, when
I first obtained quotes, I was told $100.
I went out this past weekend to purchase just the head-rail, hoping that
all the other parts would fit with the new head-rail. I installed it myself and they all fit
perfectly. The cost of a new head-rail
is only $27.03, much less than I was originally quoted. As I mentioned previously, my wife confirmed
that she did tell *** not to worry about it, and I was also taught you
always honor your word. Therefore, I have
no problem honoring my wife’s word. I
appreciate your willingness to resolve this, but please do not feel obligated
to pay anything.
Sincerely,
*** ***

Dear Mr***
*** *** (Owner) called you on 01/16/ and stated he would pay a portion to fix your aging blind and we haven't heard back from you. *** *** doesn't work for Advanced Windows any longer, so I cannot comment on the "Home Office" since we are a small Company with 6-Employees including the Owners When Dr*** (Wife) declared "it's old anyway, not to worry about it" we didn'tAs I stated previously we can't measure the door without opening the blind. We are truly sorry that it broke. It is not our intention when we operate a blind to have it crumble at the touch of movement. I'm not sure if you open it that the outcome would have changed, but that is irrelevant, because you want a new blind to replace the existing old one. Your blind isn't the first or the last to fail (fall apart) with the harsh sun it takes from the south/east. We've had this happen before and never were asked to pay for it (hazards of the job, old blinds and cob webs)If you would like me to pay for a portion of the blind I will do that. We are a small Family Owned and Operated Company and it really hurts us to have and complaint against our Company for something so trivial that doesn't have anything to do with our productsWe were so shocked that we called you right away when we received the complaint and said we would pay a portion to fix your blindWe do sincerely apologize, it was not out intent to break your wand/rail or to cause you so much distress. *** *** and I were just so stunned by this whole ordeal and would like to pay a portion to get your blind working again. I truly humbly apologize

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
If all [redacted] broke was the
wand (and that was all that needed to be replaced), then I can understand why
my wife would say not to worry about it.  However, that is not the
case.  As [redacted] stated, [redacted] broke the wand off where it connects to
the head-rail.  Therefore, simply replacing the wand would do us no good,
as we could not connect it to the head-rail.  The entire head-rail needs
to be replaced.  However, since my wife and I believe you are only as good
as your word and she confirmed that she said not to worry about it when [redacted]
was at our home (although she was misinformed about what needed to be
replaced), we will replace the entire head-rail ourselves.  My only
question is, if [redacted] had no intention of replacing the head-rail (because my
wife told him not to worry about it), why did he tell me he submitted the
request to the home office and thought it was taken care of when I called
(after he left our home)?
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Hello,
[redacted] went to Mr. [redacted] home to measure his windows and doors. [redacted] had to slide the vertical blind in order to measure the patio door.  He held onto the wand to pull it to the side and wouldn't budge.  [redacted] then put his hands up to the top of the blind...

to side it over without using the wand and the wand broke off  (nothing else broke). The door is located to the south/east side of the home.  [redacted] was the sixth and last estimator to operate blinds and with all the wear and tear and age of the blind the wand broke off at the top were it connects. Dr. [redacted] (Wife) said to [redacted] "the blind was old and not to worry about it".  This would not be the first time a blind has broken when operated, however this is the first time someone thought we should pay for a new one. We are trained to open (raise/lower/slide sideways) them carefully, however with harsh sun and age it is going to take its toll on the blind/plastic wand. We are very respectful of everyone's home and their property.  I could probably purchase a new wand if I new the brand and color.
Thank you,
[redacted]
