I recommend that he higher someone else.  He ended up coming to my home and begging me to come back and try again.  At Drywall Systems we bend over backward to make our customers happy. So I agreed to try again. Now I have invested over $4,000.00 dollars of my money into his ceiling. My finishers warned me at the beginning of this job that he would never be happy and we would probably never get paid. I should have listened.
When I left the house at 7:00 pm He and his wife were very happy with the work. He put a stop payment on the check the next day without a word.

Review: I hired this business to repair my approximately 550 square foot ceiling that spans my living room and kitchen area of my home. The initial work to be done was to skim coat the ceiling, spray texture, and paint the ceiling. The results of the initial work came out poor resulting in a "wavy"/non-flat ceiling that was obvious to the naked eye. The business owner agreed the results were poor and agreed not to charge me for this work, however he was initially reluctant to repair the damage they had done to my ceiling which left it "wavy"/non-flat. The business owner avoided my calls for nearly two weeks until I had to visit him unannounced at his home in order to find out if he was going to stand by his work and try and fix the work they had done. Ultimately, he reluctantly agreed to try and repair the initial work after my insistence that he should stand by his work and should be liable for fixing it. He only agreed to do this if he could charge me more than his initial quote (from the initial work), meaning I would have to cover the difference in the cost due to the poor quality of work they have done on their initial work. We finally agreed that he would try to repair the work done from the first job that resulted in the "wavy"/non-flat ceiling. He agreed that he would do this by hanging new drywall, do the taping, spray the texture, and re-paint the ceiling. The quality of their work was not what they committed to do as the taping of the joints were done very poorly. The joints on the finished drywall work can be easily seen to the casual observer and span the entire length of the ceiling. At this point in the repair process I felt that the business owner was more concerned with trying to turn a profit due to the initially botched work for which he did not charge me for rather than trying to deliver the level of quality that they had committed to do. I chose not to pay the business owner for their poor quality work and he is now threatening to file a lawsuit to force me to pay him.Desired Settlement: For the business owner to not charge me for the poor quality service he provided, so that I can take that cost and use it to hire a more reputable business to repair the work they performed.
