I put money down on a jeep that we agreed on a price. I was told they were holding it for me until I could pick it up. They sold it to someone else.
I found a jeep wrangler that I liked and called and talked to a salesman named [redacted] about it. We agreed on a price over the phone with the approval of the sales manager [redacted]. This was on a Friday. I had my own financing and [redacted] talked to my banker personally. I put $629 down and had a certified check made out to superior mazda. [redacted] wanted the $629 to hold the vehicle until Monday when we agreed that I would pick it up. I live 200 miles away and started my trip with a trailer in tow on Monday morning. I was 2/3rd the way there when [redacted] called and told me that they sold the jeep on Saturday for over $12,000. When I talked to the sales manager [redacted], he told me that my $629 was to hold the jeep so that I could look at it. Which makes no sense at all. When I asked about refunding me some money for gas he said "sorry" in an unsympathetic way. I asked to talk to his boss and he refused to give me a name or number to contact the boss. He just kept saying that he's the sales manager. when I told him that I was going to go ahead and come into the dealership he said "Come on in. I'm a big guy." They are very unprofessional at this dealership
