I found a posting for a Dachshund puppy for sale online at hoobly.com (the same listing was on puppyfind.com as well) submitted by breeder Dawn Nicole Siggins (maiden name Butcher). After I reached out via e-mail she provided her phone number to me and requested that I text her for further information on the dog.
After texting the seller she confirmed the dog was the type of breed I was looking for specifically, a dapple Dachshund; she also provided photos of the parents and other dogs from the litter per my request. A deposit of $250 was provided through PayPal to hold the puppy. At the time the deposit was made she assured me the puppy was genetically healthy and as advertised (specifically not double dapple, which can have serious health issues such as difficulty seeing and hearing as they get older). After the deposit was made, I did further research for my own peace of mind by talking to experienced breeders of Dachshunds who confirmed--after looking at the photos of the puppy's mother and father--that the dog should not have been bred at all as the parents were both dapple (which lends itself to the heightened possibility of the puppy being a double dapple genetically as a result). To further substantiate the misrepresentation, I also discovered that the color combination of the puppy is not genetically possible given the colors of the parents. With that new evidence brought to light, I even question if the photos of the parents provided originally were indeed the puppy's actual parents.
I believe the puppy was falsely advertised and to complete the transaction would make me very uncomfortable knowing the health risks at play. I have inquired on these discrepancies with the seller to reach an amicable resolution of returning my deposit and parting ways, but she has acted unprofessionally and refused to help. She has made it clear she will not return my deposit or provide any further evidence to support her original claim that the puppy was not a double dapple.

Refund As the seller has failed to uphold her end of the deal by providing acceptable and factual information about the breed of the puppy, I desire my deposit of $250 returned promptly and for us to sever communication.
