regarding the complaint by *** ***, there are three factors that need to be added to this story mr*** bought the bike on the spur of the moment, so there was not enough time to do a full inspection of his trade-ininstead of a full-hour to evaluate it, a technician gave it a
cursory look-over and told us it would need tires and brakes very soonwe had to take that into account when coming up with a valuewhen the bike was eventually inspected, the tech said it was not necessary immediately, so we sold the bike for less than what we could have gotten out of it, warning the new owner that those repairs would need to be done very soon we gave mr*** more than the fair travalue listed in the official black book for may 2017.the travalue for his FLHXSE was $25,and we gave him $26,with the belief that we would need to put $1,into the bike for brakes and tires.the bike was supposed to retail for $34,we sold it for $29, the new bike mr, *** burchased, a FLHTKSE had an MSRP of $41,mr*** purchased the bike for $38,-- a discount of $3, I stand firm that he got a good deal all the way around and do not intend to reimburse him for the expected repairs thank you for your attention to this - terrie m*** Owner, VP Sales D&S Harley-Davidson

I am rejecting this response because:
I would like to respond to the answer Terrie M*** of D&S Harley provided to my complaint I am sorry my response is not as timely as I would have preferred Your original emails to me went to a junk account and I did not get them MsM*** gave three factors as to why my complaint was not valid I will respond to each and then reiterate my complaint which MsM*** has not addressed First MsM*** states that I purchased the bike on the spur of the moment and there was not enough time for a full hour inspection of the bike I got to the dealership mid-morning and didn't leave until the dealership had closed for the day, more than sufficient time to inspect the bike She stated that her tech gave my traa cursory look and told her that it would need tires and brakes very soon The truth was that the service writer looked at the bike, not a tech according to Craig Frausto MsM*** told me that my trawould need a front tire and front brakes I questioned her about this and she told me to ask the service tech Unfortunately, I chose not to talk with a service tech at that time About two weeks after I bought the bike I returned to the dealer to deliver a second set of keys I had I was met at the front door of the dealership by MrFrausto who immediately told me the dealership didn't have to do a thing to the bike and had already sold it What the bike sold for by the dealer has nothing to do with my transaction and for her to somehow blame me for the amount she sold my trafor is ridiculous! Secondly, MsM*** states they gave me a fair traand I agreed they did had they replaced the brakes and tire Had I known that they didn't replace the brakes and tire, I would not of thought it was such a fair trade-in For her to determine that they gave me a fair trawas just her opinion There are two sides to a sales transaction and her opinion of the fairness of the transaction is not mine, given the circumstances Again, what she sold it for has nothing to do with my transaction. Thirdly, MsM*** also states that I received a $discount on the bike I purchased This is ludicrous since the bike was nearly two years old when I bought it Of all people, MsM*** should know that all bikes depreciate over time, whether used or not It's not my problem that she could not sell the bike earlier and like any other business when products won't sell, they get stale and must be discounted to move them out of inventory to make room for the new models Although none of these comments have anything to do with my complaint My complaint is simply that MsM*** lied to me about my traand what her dealership would have to do to get it ready to sell Had I not believed her about the repairs and service she said were needed, I would have walked away from the deal I have purchased thirteen Harley's in my life and have not ever been treated so unfairly and dishonestly I expect D&S Harley to make this right by reimbursing me for the repairs they didn't make Thank you *** ***
