Moving from out of state, our experience for our nearly half-million dollar investment was far from what we could have ever imagined it could beOf course, this was our specific experience, and not necessarily congruent with what others may have experiencedAlmost 18-mos after closing, we still have a long list of unresolved issues, plus a big, fat lawyer's bill now too, trying to enforce our warrantyIf we had it to do over, we would not make the same decision

First off, let's be clearAt the time of signing the
contract with D.SWare I did NOT know I was signing the wrong feature sheetI
do not work for D.SWare and therefore will not take the blame for an
incompetent *** ***Amazing how the "wrong" signed feature
sheet made its way to the design center and yet no one along the way noticed it
was "wrong"No one looked over the contract? Perhaps the entire D.S
Ware staff is incompetent as wellIn any case, I will gladly sign the cancellation
binder release form and expect to receive a check for $

I only wish we had seen *** *.'s review before we purchased, because my experience is the sameThis company is extremely proactive for prospective customers, but once you close the deal, they give only lip-service to the problems that arise
We have a dangerous issue, with a unsupported overhang on a quartz counter-topBecause it was improperly supported, it is cracking right along the cantilevered edgeDS Ware representatives have looked at it several times, and agree that there is a problem, but after months of waiting, they still have made no attempt to remedy it

I would like to add some things for anyone looking to build or buy from DS Ware. Stay away from them. I going to specify that this is my opinion so that if it is brought up in any future litigation. I have been threatened with litigation because I told them I would post pictures of inspection reports, pictures, and emails that were completed on a DS Ware home. I can tell you one thing. They have no problem looking you in the eye and lying through their teeth. I found multiple problems with the home I almost purchased from them. To the point it was an unsafe home to live in.
I can't deny that they build some beautiful homes. That was the reason that I ignored the numerous bad reviews about them that I saw. It was after I signed the contract that all the truth started to surface. What we found was that the home was not safe or sound. Of course Im not a professional in the matter but with what I saw I was scared of their homes. Unfortunately for me I didn't inspect the contract adequately. It basically sold me an "as is" home. I had no rights per their contract. So please have someone who knows contractual law or a real estate agent who will fight for you inspect their contracts before signing. I lost a fair amount of money, but Im sure that in the long run I will come out far ahead by not moving in to one of their homes. Recently I agreed to purchase a new home from DSWare. The house we were purchasing was a spec home that was nearly complete. During our negotiation with them, they gave us many options to upgrade certain components of our house. As we were working out the offer, they told us that they could have the house ready to close on 3/31 (written into the contract). Well as 3/31 approached we started to find out that this likely wasn't going to be feasible. They were having trouble getting contractors into the house to finish the work. Once 3/31 approached, they delayed our closing by a week. As that approached, it too was delayed (causing me to pay additional interest penalties). They changed our closing to 4/16. At closing our Certificate of Occupancy was not ready so we had problems with that. When we walked through the house when we arrived after closing the air conditioner was overflowing water into the ceiling and through the wall and soaking the carpet(after we closed!). We also found that the painting in the house was not complete along with caulking in the bathrooms. We found that the new wood floor was scratched and that there was paint on the new carpet. Granted, we probably should have done more diligence before closing but we were moving state to state (NE to FL). Many of these issues were identified before hand a said to have been corrected, we just found they werent. Since closing we've been given extremely poor service. Subcontractors that say they are coming to fix something dont show up. The ones that do, do sloppy work and tend to make things worse then better. When we contact DSWare they say they will get things fixed but routinely dont meet their committments. I've gone as high as their senior management ([redacted]) and all they seem to do is make excuses and apologies. Generally, someone from DSWare is rarely at our house to supervise what is going on. We just want people to get the stuff fixed in our house the right way when they say they will.
