DTS Towing & Road Service Reviews (4)

DTS was dispatched for roadside service. They did not come as scheduled. I called back and the worker got mad and cancelled the call. The worker cancelled the call after I inquired about their eta, and hung the phone up in my face. Before hanging up the phone, I asked him if he was upset because I needed to know how long it would take to come to me. I indicated that I was in the middle of the street at 1 am with my kids. I called back. He and I got into a verbal altercation. He hung up again to only call me back from a personal cell phone XXX-XXXXXXX to continue the verbal assault. After I ended the call. He text my phone from this number to let me know that he contacted [redacted] Police Department.Desired SettlementI want to know if this person was the business owner. If not, I would like the owner know the type of careless person that they have working there. If it was the business owner, I would like to make sure I do not use this company ever!Business Response A call was dispatched to us from [redacted] and an eta of 60 minutes was given. The customer continued to call during the original 60 minutes upset that we were not there yet. She was told that we would meet the eta and were on our way. She was so irate and upset that the dispatcher told her if she did not stop swearing and yelling that we would cancel the call. She told him she hoped his wife broke down and was raped while waiting. He hung up on her and contacted the motor club to cancel. The motor club was having the same problem with the customer and canceled the call for us but paid us for a GOA for our trouble. The customer was contacted to let her know we would not be coming. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Because the dispatcher is LYING. He became upset because I questioned the ETA after waiting an hour. He told me that if I couldn't wait I could find another service. He became upset because I wanted to know a more exact time for the arrival. He threaten to cancel the service before I got upset. I asked him if he was mad because I questioned him. He cancelled the services and hung up. I contacted my insurance company. They placed me on hold and called him back. He refused services with them. This is the point when I became upset. I called back to address him about cancelling the service call after I waited an hour. When he got smart, I became extremely upset. I do admit to cursing but ONLY after he provoked me. The dispatched called me back from his personal cell number XXX-XXX-XXXX and told me that he didn't care if me and my kids stayed out there all night. He later texted me from his cell phone saying that he had contacted [redacted] Police Department. This COMPANY if FULL of liars!!! I have read very similar complaints since filing this one. Complaints made in various years, different people saying the same thing. Got to be some truth to this. I would think that the OWNER, [redacted] would take more pride in his business. It appears that his company hires the sm of the Earth!!! It's a shame that he is okay with the unconcerned and unprofessional behavior of his worker. This is a sure way to destroy his BUSINESS. I am going to make sure that EVERYONE in this city is aware of the type of business he is running over there. I will continue to contact everyone that I know and that will listen to let them know all about DTS's business practice. I am not a coward. I don't have to lie! I never denied my roll in this incident unlike the dispatcher. I never gave him a reason to cancel the call. As a consumer, I have the right to ask any reasonable question...especially when the service was not FREE. It was 1 a.m. I was strained with my children!

Complaint property not on site / no cooperation to release propertyI was told over the phone that I could bring a trailer to pick up my vehicle however when I arrived they did not have the key to my vehicle on site and would not allow me to drive the trailer in to the lot to get my vehicle. I was told first told that I could drive the vehicle out if the lot however then the owner was called and I was then told that the vehicle was not driveable but they would pull it out of the lot for $50 so I could put it on the trailer however I would have to wait to get the key after paying $125 for the towing (which included no clean up at the site) plus $60 for 2 days of storage when they only had the vehicle on their lot for 30 hours. I then had to call another wrecker to get the vehicle off the lot because they refuse to release my vehicle without another wrecker pulling it out or me paying them another $50 just to pull it out of their lot. Desired SettlementI day storage fee of $30 since the vehicle was not on site for 48 hrs as well as my gas cost for bringing a trailer on site that I was told I could use but was refused once arrive. As well as $100 for the other wrecker I had to call since they would not release my vehicle. Business Response In response to the rates that were charged - The customer was charged The [redacted] of [redacted] wrecker rates. We charged correctly $125 for a class A tow and $30 per day storage. The first 24 hours is a $30 charge and the 25th hour begins a new day with a new days storage fee of $30. In response to letting them tow their own vehicle off of the [redacted] secured lot - The [redacted] of [redacted] only allows permitted tow drivers and tow trucks to pull from the lot. This would also be an insurance liability on our property. In response to releasing property - If they called and requested that their property be released, I'm sure they were told it was ok to come get their property with the misunderstanding that they meant their property inside the vehicle. The complaint does not have the date of the tow. Can you please ask [redacted] to provide a copy of their tow ticket? Once I have this information I can review the call with the dispatcher that was on duty. Thank you,[redacted]/DTS Towing

They were extremely late. The driver and dispatch scared my fiance. That he was going to be physically harmedMONDAY 2/18/2014 . [redacted] issued them out to tow my [redacted] they were suppose to be their in 35 min called them after 1 1/2 hours said they had something else to do if we didn't like it we can cancel the call or wait. When they finally showed the driver talked bad about the dispatch girl my fiance said he was gonna call on her in the morning. Driver tell my fiance his gf In the truck when he get in the truck he tells gf that my fiance gonna call on dispatch in the morning and the girl was she dispatch girl. He becomes silent to avoid more conflict then they begin to taunt him asking him if he scared . He was in fear for his life Desired SettlementDriver and dispatch girl be fired I believe the driver was [redacted]Business Response On 2/17/14 we received a dispatched request from [redacted] to have their customer towed. We were originally dispatched to [redacted] MS but the customer was actually in [redacted] MS. This caused a delay in the estimated 60 minute ETA. When the driver arrived, alone, on scene, their were two men with visible guns and they were upset because the driver was late. One was on the phone with our dispatcher, [redacted], cussing her because the driver was late. He then calmed down and said he still wanted the vehicle towed. One of the men left and the other rode with the driver. Our dispatcher stayed on the line with the driver because he was so uncomfortable with the customer knowing that he was angry and had a gun. She overheard the customer telling the driver that he had been in two altercations with his gun and almost shot someone. It was the customer who had a gun and an attitude. Our driver was alone and unarmed. He was just late getting to the call due to bad information in the original dispatch. The customer has also filed a complaint with [redacted] with different information. They claimed that the driver had a girlfriend in the truck but also stated the driver was trying to get home to his wife. The driver did not have anyone else in the truck and is also unmarried. I think this customer was upset that they broke down and had to wait longer than expected for a tow.

Emergency RV tire repair after calling roadside assistance. Tire that this company installed was used, rotted ripped and dangerous. I am a single woman who was on the road by myself, in a 31 ft. RV towing a small car. The drivers side front tire exploded on hwy. 78 at exit 114. I was 17 miles from my destination of Memphis. After calling roadside assistance, TDS Towing took 2-1/2 hours to show up. They charged me $250 for a used, dry rotted, cracked tire ... That my local tire store told me I was lucky to return safely to Florida on.Desired SettlementI had to replace this tire immediately upon my return to Florida (within days). The new tire was $211.95. At minimum, I believe a refund of 50 percent of the cost of the bad tire ($125) should be issued to me.Business Response I was contacted by the customers motor club for a service call. I advised the motor club that it was out of our service area and we did not have a new tire in the size needed. They contacted me back and said they couldn't find anyone else that could do it and would I please take the call and use the used tire that we had to get the customer mobile again. When I arrived on the call the customer advised that she had also had a blowout the day before. She was canceling her trip to CA and heading back to FL and would use her road hazard warranty when she returned home. She felt that tires should last at least 7 years. I strongly advised her that she needed a new set of tires that could be ordered when the warehouse opened in the morning. She said what she had was fine and she would take care of it in FL. Everyone involved knew that this was not a new tire. The customer was advised that she needed a complete new set of tires before traveling back to FL but she wanted to wait until she returned to FL to use her warranty.
