Duct Master Air Duct and Dryer Vent Cleaning Reviews (5)

Review: Good Afternoon,

This past Saturday I took my [redacted] deal up on its offer to have my house vents and dryer vent cleaned. Firstly, this company goes by a few different names so it made it hard to research "Duct N Dryer". After my poor experience with them, I decided to [redacted] the number they called me from and a company by the name of "Duct Masters Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning" popped up. Out of 5 stars they have 1.5 with 16 bad reviews. It surprises me that this is the type of company [redacted] would present to their customers. Out of the 16 reviews on there, I related to most of their claims. Showed up with 280+ in additional cost, no uniforms or company ID's present and honestly made me feel a little uneasy opening the door to two men with no present ID except for their van. Also the equipment they use to clean your vents is not standard for vent cleaning. A true cleaning company uses outdoor vented equipment, so all the dust and debris they capture is vented and contained outside the home. This company was clearly going to use a vacuum. I ended up only getting my dryer vent cleaned because I really needed it. They charged me 63 extra dollars to clean my dryer because somewhere in the fine print it said dryer vent cleaned up to 6 feet. So in total I paid 94 dollars just to have my dryer vent cleaned. No where on the [redacted] website does it state only up to 6. I really feel taken advantage of by this company. I will include the yelp reviews for this company and hope in the future you don't do business with them or their 3 other alias names. Thanks, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I am asking for a refund for the additional cost of getting my dryer vent cleaned which was 63.00 paid by check. No where did it say on the [redacted] website dryer vent to be cleaned up to 6 feet or additional cost would be added. And I may need to take up this refund/claim with [redacted] too. But mostly I am upset this company seems to change their name so often and tries to cover up the fact that they are a terrible company, with poor reviews and keeps getting away with scamming people out of their money.

Review: We scheduled service from this company to clean vent ducts throughout our house. The representative left the house filthy of dust and debris from the vents. We found dirt and dust all throughout our baby's play pen/crib, wedding memorabilia (we had to throw out because it was ruined), on our couch, and in our back yard from the dryer vent. Two days later our AC unit stopped working due to a back up from other dust and debris that our basement is flooding from all of the backed up condensation. I have tried calling the company multiple times to speak to a manager about our problems and each time I speak to a customer service representative who tells me the manager will call but as of today, I still have not received a call. This has been a horrible experience overall and not what I wish to deal with being 8 months pregnant.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive a call back from the manager to discuss our problems and have our money refunded

Review: I had an appointment on Wednesday 12/31/14 at 3 PM with this company to have my dryer vent clean for one flat fee of $75. This price was to clean the entire dryer vent system no matter how long the vents were. I left work three hours early to meet the tech. When he arrived he went and took a look at the dryer and then to see where it came out the house. After he looked and saw it, he then tried to sell me extra service for and extra $275. I told him I just wanted my dryer vent clean. He then said he had to go to his van. He went outside and call someone on his phone. In a few minutes he came back inside and said that he is very sorry but he did not have a ladder in his van and he could not do the job and that I would have to call and reschedule. The Tech then left and I called the office and the Tech supervisor answer the phone and I told him what the tech had said. The supervisor then said there is nothing he can do because all he is responsible for is just sending the tech out to the job site. I told him that when I first made the appointment, I gave the young lady all this information about my house and that they knew it was a three story house and that was not a problem then. He said I would have to call back on Monday 01/05/15 to reschedule and hang up. I call back Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday all day and no one answered the phone. I called again on Thursday and finally got someone. I told the lady what had happen and I was calling to reschedule. She asked me then to hold on to see what days were available so I could reschedule. When the lady came back on the phone she said she talked with her manager and they do not have any ladder at all so they could not do the job. I could not believe this response. I asked her how can you be in this kind of business and do not have a ladder because without a ladder you cannot do any work. She then said that their ladders are on back order and they will not have any for a while and they would call me back. I then said if I got a ladder then when can the reschedule me, she then said they cannot do the work. I asked her then to speak to her manager, since i've been a manger for over 15 years and this was very bad customer service just because I did not want to spend an additional $275 for something I did not want. She said her manger will not come to the phone and I just need to find another company and hang the phone up. I was so shocked that she hanged the phone up, so I then called back and the phone just ring and went to voice mail, which I left a message to have the manager call me back and no one called back.Desired Settlement: I just want this company to stop offering low price service to get customers and then try to sell additional service that customers do not want. And when the customer refuse the additional service, for them to make up lies and do not honer the original agreement. Also the entire staff need to work on their customer service skills.

Review: An employee came to my house to clean the ductwork. My girlfriend was there and I was at work. After examining the house, I received the normal bait and switch phone call where all this additional work had to be done. I explained that I would have to reschedule after I spoke with the company to find out why the original offer was not being upheld. I told my girlfriend that he needed to leave immediately to ensure he didn't claim he had already done something. According to her, the employee began writing out forms. When she inquired, he said he was filling out an estimate. She told him that wouldn't be necessary and he proceeded to go back and forth with her about the estimate and us not getting the work done. After asking him to leave more than once, she took the clipboard and and walked to the open door and told him to leave.

I called their [redacted] office and spoke with a supervisor named [redacted]. As I started with the employees' tardiness, [redacted] cut me off to tell me what might have happened. Then I tried to explain about the extra work and was cut off again. As I went on to explain the employees' innapropriate behavior, he told me that he's known the guy for some time and doesn't believe he would act that way. I told him to just give me my money and as he explained the process, my phone died. I called back and he told me he had the opportunity to speak with the employee and was told by him that my girfriend just told him to get out and took his clipboard to the front door. [redacted] then told me that WE were disrespectful and unproffessional for doing that to his employee. I told him he has no idea what it means for the customer to be right, that he went into this conversation with a bias before I even started, and that he has cut me off several times throughout the conversation. While saying that, he cut me off. He told me he wasn't going to argue with me and that I could just go and get my money back through [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like a phone or face to face apology for both my girlfriend and myself from both the supervisor and employee. I would like a refund of my money and I would still like my dryer vent cleaned. I would also like for both of them to recieve some form of sensitivity training.

Review: I had a Duct Masters coupon from [redacted]. This coupon was for duct cleaning for unlimited vents and dryer vent cleaning. The appointment was scheduled for 2-18-2013 between 5-7pm but the technician did not come nor did anyone from Duct Masters contact me. I contacted Duct Masters and the woman who answered the phone said she had no idea why the tech did not come or call and she re-scheduled the appointment for 2-21-2013. The technician came to my house, reviewed the system and went to his truck. While he was in his truck, [redacted] (identified himself as from Duct Masters) called and tried to tell me I had a split system and it would cost more to have the work done. I explained to [redacted] that I only wanted what the coupon offered. After a few minutes of tring to tell me I needed to pay more money, he called me "Stupid" and hung up on me. The tech came back into the house shortly after [redacted] hung up on me and brought a long air hose. He proceed to go to each vent and the return and blow air into the vents. After doing all the vents, he took a vacumn and pretented to vacumn the furnace WITHOUT TURNING IT OFF. He did not vacumn the filters nor did he even inspect them. After this, he packed up the airhose and vacumn and left without cleaning the dryer vent. I contacted [redacted] but was told that since The offer was more that 7 days old, they would not issue a refund.Desired Settlement: Because of the bad experience dealing with [redacted] on the phone trying to jack the price up (Bait & Switch) and fact that blowing air into the vents was not duct cleaning and the safety issue of working in my furnace without cutting the power to the furnace and not cleaning the dryer vent as described in the [redacted] deal, I would like a complete refund as I would not want these people in my home ever again.
