Our health guarantee/contract was signed and agreed to by this party, and I have copies proving suchOur contract states: "We offer a month guarantee for hips and eyes including disorders such as retinal dysplasia and juvenile cataracts and a one-year guarantee for all other life-threatening genetic defectsViral, bacterial colds or infections such as coccidia or Giardia are easily treated and are not covered in our guarantee as they are natural things a puppy can pick upUmbilical hernias, cryptorchidism, entropy, underbite or overbite are also not coveredPuppies are naturally at risk for coccidia, Giardia and worms which are often brought on by the stress of a new home, new food, new people or just a change in the environmentAnother thing that may show up when a puppy is taken to a new environment is kennel cough (also called Bordetella-a raspy cough is a symptom of this) which is common when puppies are transported to their new homes and is usually caused by bacteriaKennel cough is self-limiting and like the common cold must run its courseFull recovery is expected and kennel cough, giardia, coccidia on their own are not life-threateningAll puppies are treated and/or vaccinated for distemper, parvovirus, coccidia, kennel cough, and Giardia before they leaveHowever you need to be aware that these things can arise and that most of them are not serious and easily treated and we will not cover treatment for them." This puppy had a case of kennel cough and had already been treated for such prior to leavingWhen I talked to [redacted] later last year, she told me the puppy had recovered fullyShe then called this winter and said he was sickI am not responsible if she did not take proper care of him in the cold weather and he fell illOnce again, she says we did not uphold the contractAs stated above, we do not cover illnesses such as kennel cough or pneumonia or any type of respiratory illnesses I have her signature on the contract agreeing to itThere was NO breach of contract in any way
