Date of Move: 12/19/2014Shipper called our office on 2/9/2015 stating their were damages sustained to her items during her move, and that they had been out of town and were just getting a chance to make contact with People's Moving & Storage. A claim form was sent to the shipper on 2/10/2015...

(the mail had already been picked up by the time on the phone call on 2/9/2015). The claim was received to our office on June 1, 2015 (mail date of May 28, 2015). The claim was processed and responded to within our 14 business day window (it was mailed on 6/2/15). The shipper listed the weights of the damaged items on the claim form and signed on the day of the moving for the industry standard coverage of 60 cents per pound and that is what reimbursement amount of $70.05. Also [redacted] did not ever promise or even lead the customer to believe an appraiser would be sent out as we were not notified that the customer had any damages till her initial call on February 9th when she was requesting a claim form. Our policy is to follow the contract signed by the shipper and there was any type of additional  purchased for the move or for the storage as our storage is strictly tenant and landlord. We did offer to pay for the replacement key for the Grandfather clock, however the other damaged items do fall into the valuation coverage of 60 cents per pound.
