To Revdex.com:Customer called on 6/26/to explain his transmission was not working, and was told by others that solenoids in the transmission needed replacingI explained that we would need to inspect the car at no charge to determine the best course of actionThis free check
includes checking and reporting on the condition of the fluid, a computer scan to check for trouble codes, checking external controls and road testing the vehicleThe customer had the car towed in on that same dayThe inspection found the fluid to be dark brown, and code *** and *** both are transmission codes indicating an internal problem with the transmissionThe customer was informed of the findings and explained the transmission would need to be removed, disassemble, and internally inspected to determine what parts would be necessary to repair the transmission. The customer paid us with his debit card and authorized us to do the internal inspection of his transmission in person on 6/27/at 11:After dismantling the transmission, we found the cost of repair would be excessive, and we recommended replacing the transmissionWe offered to allow the customer to buy the unit at our cost with no profit mark upThe amount quoted for the completed repair includes installing the new unit, and replacing all mountsThe customer decided not to repair his vehicle and said they would sell the vehicle as isThe customer questioned why we could not just replace the solenoids as suggested by other shopI had to remind the customer that there diagnosis was incorrect and incomplete and the transmission needed additional parts, and replacing the solenoids would not fix the internal transmission problem because it has a bad pump as well as other CVT transmission partsTime line as follows.6/26/initial contact6/26/car towed in6/27/customer and wife paid teardown fee of $plus $for special CVT transmission fluid. This price also includes reinstalling the transmission.6/28/unit removed and inspected 6/30/customer called and findings reported, price quoted7/3/customer declines to fix his vehicle.7/5/we asked the customer to come down to the shop so we could show him all the work we have done so far, customer declines offer to come to the shop to inspect and confer with technician and owner.Even though the book time per all data (what we use to price labor) to remove and replace this transmission is hours @ $= $we only charged $895.00+fluid that we know we need. I’ve enclosed some pictures of the work we’ve done so far. Since we have done the work he is not entitled to a refundTell us why here

We charge $to do the RDI (remove, dismantle and inspect the transmission) plus $for special CVT fluid that we know we needThe customer was here in person and we explained to him the procedure and process and he authorized us to remove the transmission from the vehicle and for us to dismantle itHe paid us in person with his debit card and signed the receiptWe began the work, 1st we had to remove the sub frame from the vehicle, and then we took the transmission out of the vehicle that took about hoursNext the transmission was disassembled on the bench by my transmission builderAfter he disassembled the transmission he puts all the parts including the case in the parts washer to clean themThen he writes up a parts list to see what’s needed to rebuild the transmissionThis process was another hours of workThen my manager calls different vendors to get quotes on the parts we need to rebuild his transmissionIn this case we found the parts cost was very expensive to rebuild this unitMy manager and I discussed this and decided to help this customer by letting him purchase a new unit from the dealer at our wholesale price, no markup and we would install it for himThe customer’s vehicle also needed transmission and engine mounts which we offered at a discounted priceThe customer decided not to fix his vehicle at this time, he said he didn’t have the money and he was going to sell itHe asked for a refund and I explained to him all the work we have already doneI then invited him into the shop to show him all the work we have done and he refused to come in and said just put everything back together and he will come and getI called *** one more time to have him come down and look at the transmission disassembled on the bench but he declinedI took picture of all the work we have done which the Revdex.com hasPer the customer’s request we had to reassemble the transmission, install it back in the vehicle, reinstall the sub frame and fill the transmission with new fluid this process took another hour of laborI’ve included all data’s parts and labor time guide which a lot of shops use for pricing labor and you have the pictures of the work that we have done as well as our first response to this complaintHe’s not entitled to any refund

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. My computer is quite old and I don't have all the fancy gadgets like copy, fax, scanThis attachment with my window open for response keeps
closing IE, Yahoo and have too wait untill they send reportSays I have too many windows openIn a few days I won't have internet or phoneI can't pay them this month
and feed us and last month or this one can't pay SDGEAamco took everything I had without a blinkI was told $up front, turns to be $255, still upfrontHe takes key and says going to van
for info Then whren told to pay was led to believe work was almost doneI was tired and hungry, left my medication at home so I wasn't thinking that I was never asked if they could do any of that work on my vanI never okay'd any work but the codes being pulled and thinking that if they said work was needed and given an estimate that the "up front" $would be used towards priceAll shops I called, said charge for diagnostics is used towards auto repair if done at the shop. I didn't have any appt. When I called on a Friday late afternoon as other shops from a phone book all said same thing, bring in MondayThis man puts my info in computer for more creditI told him I didn't need any more credit, I couldn't pay what he took from the cards I'd been saving to use to move withMy rent was doubled on July 1, I have section housing, I've been told that my rents more than 1/my income so I need to moveI had fixed enough of my credit and pre-approval for these came in mail. I sent them back for approvalI was so happy that I got the cards because I was more than pressed for moving money and all it entailsThe owner was asked to lower rent so could save but she won'tThey were my ace in the hole, better to say they were a miracle to meNow my credit is going bad and my car won't run goodBy the way, His real technicion of a mechanic hollered from the bay area "what's lean on bank 1&mean? Should've ran with van thenNo coolant flush was doneThe waterI put in Monday morning was still in the resovoiur & at the same level and my van never stopped misfiring so it makes me think plugs were'nt changed eitherI live alone with my service dog, I have no one but myself to do things so now without anything as back up, I can't get any work doneBy the way my brakes front & back, master cylinder and all were done at the end of October 2014, as was a new fuel filter, by a mechanic that is ase certified, owed me favor I went to a place that steals and double talksAlso doesn't do work and want more than my income for laborI told him that if I didn't move soon, I would be evicted I could not afford what they wantedHe also said I'd never see the ck engine light again. Just few blocks from my street it comes onI call, he says to bring in morning, I do & park in parking spot only for him to say I told you that you need a fuel pumpCould've told that remark on the phone instead of driving a van he supposedly told me not to and using gas I can't affordThis Aamco is owned and operated by people that are unscrupulous. How is it that he thinks he can get away with fraud, and using my info for another credit card. I was raised to believe in karmaIt takes a good bite out of your backsidePlus moreMy computer has been acting crazy and I need to shut it down. If he's found to be ok, I know I'll never believe the Revdex.com again. My dog has dental, his gums are red and he's in pain, so tnere's another reason & I told him that I had vet bills & my dog needed dentalTrying to move, had money, am packed, van that was working if ck light was blinkingThank you AamcoIf You'd given me an estimate I would have gone to the 2nd place that pulled codes You're not very accurate the shops I took van for codes there were codes The 2nd place said $includes labor, why let you take all? Bring on the media!! I've been calling and talking to many people as it is.

To whom it may concern: 888 consumer complaint #[redacted]On 8/10/15 at approximately 9:00a.m. Mrs. [redacted] arrived at Aamco Mission Bay for herappointment to check her vehicle. She stated that her "check engine light" had been flashing.A repair order was written and we proceeded with a free...

check. The vehicle was visuallyinspected and computer scanned for trouble codes. Four trouble codes were found and it wasexplained to Mrs. [redacted] that further testing was needed to ascertain the problemcausing these codes at a cost of $255.00 and a few hours of our time. Mrs. [redacted]agreed and paid the fee and chose to wait for the results of the testing. After further testing itis determined by our ASE Certified Master technician that the vehicle needs a mass air flowsensor, air induction service, spark plugs, ignition wires and a coolant recovery bottle cap inorder to begin addressing the misfiring and lean running condition. It Is also determined thatthe brake master cylinder and booster on the vehicle needs to be replaced due to leaking brakefluid. The necessary steps to begin repairing the vehicle and costs are then explained to Mrs[redacted] in person and at that point she authorizes and pays the fee to begin addressingthe misfires and lean codes and chooses not to address the brake concerns duetfunds at this time.At approximately 4:30pm the repairs which Mrs. [redacted] authorized are finished and wereview with the customer the additional repairs which are needed and the costs. Mrs. [redacted]
[redacted] is told that the vehicle still needs a fuel pump and fuel filter, brake master cylinder andbrake booster, and heater core for coolant leak. Mrs. [redacted] indicates that she cannotafford any additional repairs at this time. We advised Mrs. [redacted] that the englne lightwould probably come back on and she needed to be aware that the vehicle was leaklng coolantfrom the heater core which will cause overheating. She was advised that she should not drivethe vehicle in this condition but she indicated that it was her only vehicle. At approximately 5:30 pm, Mrs. [redacted] called back to Aamco and indicated that thecheck engine light has come back on. Aamco invited her back the following morning to checkthe work performed. All work that had been performed was quality checked and Mrs. [redacted]was told that her vehicle required additional work. She again indicated that she couldnot afford the additional work at that time and would return when she could. We spent all day working on this Vehicle, it has over 156,000 miles on it, we also told Mrs.[redacted] there would be additional work that she could do in stages. We also told her thecheck engine light will come back on and stay on until she does all the necessary repairs thather vehicle needs. We listed the additional work that will be needed on her vehicle on therepair order, we discussed this with her and told her to come back and do the rest of therepairs when she can afford it. We showed her on the repair order where we listed additionalwork needed, told her what was needed and she signed the repair order.

To [redacted]: Revdex.com consumer complaint #[redacted] We feel we have addressed all of the issues in regards to this complaintin my previous statement and all of our documentation is complete and accurate. The customer was present for the authorization for diagnosisand was told of all the work required to repair her van. She chose to do only the work she could afford and voluntarily paid with her credit cards. All the work that we did was listed on the repair order as well as the additional work needed. The customer read and signed the repair order and we told her to comeback if she would like us to do theadditional work that her vehicle needed when she can afford it.  Thank YouAAMCO San Diego

WE DO NOT FEEL IT FIXES THE ISSUE THAT WE FEEL WE OVER-PAYED FOR A JOB THAT THEY CLAIM WAS DONE AND WANT A REFUND. WE ARE AWARE OF THE WORK THEY DID HOOKING IT UP TO THE COMPUTER, HOWEVER THEY DID NOT SHOW US PROOF OF THE REST OF THE WORK AND ONLY CONTACTED ME OF COMING IN TO SHOW ME THE WORK UNTIL THEY RECEIVED OUR COMPLAINT BUT I REFUSED AS HE WAS RUDE AND RAISED HIS VOICE IN A RECORDING I HAVE AVAILABLE, AND AFTER TWO WEEKS OF HAVING THE CAR THERE. WE WERE TOLD BY PREVIOUS MECHANIC IT WAS THE SOLENOIDS AND AFTER THE COMPANY AAMCO CHECKED IT THEIR OPINION FOR THE BEST OPTION WAS TO GET A NEW TRANSMISSION, BUT WE REFUSED AS WE NO LONGER HAD THE MONEY TO DO SO AND ASKED IF THEY COULD JUST FIX THE SOLENOIDS  THEY REFUSED AND THAT'S WHEN WE ASKED FOR 600 OF OUR MONEY BACK MINUS THE 395 THAT WAS TO CHECK IT AND SEE THE PROBLEM,SINCE THEY'RE WAS NO WORK DONE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY REFUSED TO GIVE OUR MONEY BACK AND THAT IS THE REASON WHY WE REJECT THEIR RESPONSE. TODAY JULY 17,2017 THE CAR WAS FINALLY READY FOR PICK UP AND RECEIVED PAPERWORK, A RECEIPT THAT WAS NOT GIVEN TO ME WHEN THE PAYMENT WAS GIVEN ON JUNE 27,2017. WHERE IT STATES WHAT THE 1,000 WERE PAID FOR AND WHAT THE WORK THEY CLAIM THEY DID. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THEY WANTED TO CHARGE 1,000 TO ONLY SEE THE PROBLEM WHEN I ALREADY KNEW WHAT IT WAS I WOULD HAVE REFUSED AND TAKEN MY MONEY ELSEWHERE AND WOULD HAVE NOT WASTED MY TIME AT ALL IN THAT PLACE. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE LIKE ME IS NOT RIGHT AND SOMETHINGS HAS TO BE DONE.
