Initial Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2016/11/08) */
It appears that on 10/6/16 [redacted] contacted us wanting to resume her programs. She enrolled in the following:
Doctor of Naturopathy on 12/6/2000 and paid $2695
Certificate in Nutritional Counseling 12/6/200 and paid $350.40
Master...

Herbalist 12/6/2000 and paid $233.60
All of the programs had a five year time limit from the enrollment date in which they needed to be completed.
She may certainly continue on but she will have to re-enroll in the current program offerings. We transfer over as much as we can for a student in this situation. She has paid a total of $3279 between the 3 programs. $250 is not transferrable as it is the application fee but we are willing to transfer the remaining amount of $3029.
The current ND program is $3795 on installments or $3495 to pay in full. She then gets a discounted rate for adding the other 2 programs back due to courses overlapping. The Master Herbalist program would be $1045 on installments or $900 to pay in full. The Certificate in Nutritional Counseling would be $845 on installments or $700 to pay in full.
Her grand total (before applying the $3029) would be $5685 on installments or $5095 to pay in full.
The last communication we had with [redacted] was on 10/6/16. She asked for a refund but the policy make a refund policy make a refund available for up to 18 months after the enrollment date. Since it has been 16 years, she is not eligible for a refund. Rather than keep all of her fees, we are willing to transfer her money over to any of our updated programs.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 15, 2016/11/10) */

Final Business Response /* (4000, 17, 2016/11/15) */
In response to [redacted]'s concern, we are not able to issue a refund due to her enrolling 16 yea rs ago. The period for a refund was 18 months from the enrollment date. This allowed until June 6, 200 2 to receive a refund. There are a couple options in regards to her programs.
We are able to transfer over $3029 of the funds she pa I d prior.
Option 1: The fees that would transfer will be enough to cover the Advanced
Certified Nutritional Counseling (ACNC) program and the Master Herbalist (MH)
programs with no additional fees owed. This would provide a new 2-year time limit to complete these programs.
Option 2: The fees that would transfer will almost cover the Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) program. $766 would be due to complete this program. This would break down to $159 monthly for approximately 5 months, with the 5th payment being less. This would provide a new 3-year time limit to complete this program.
Option 3: The fees that would transfer would cover a good portion of the Doctor of Naturopathy (ND), Advanced Certified Nutritional Counseling (ACNC) and the Master Herbalist (MH) programs. The total tuition comes to $5685 on installments. Once we apply the prior fees, the remaining balance would be $2656. This would provide a
new 3-year time limit to complete these programs.
Option 4: The $3029 is transferrable to any program we are currently offering. For example, we offer the Certified Natural Health Professional program (that includes the Certified Health Specialist program) that is $1400. The fees that we can transfer would cover this program. There are no additional materials to purchase as the
videos/manuals needed are included in the tuition fee. Then there would be enough
left that she could also complete either the Advanced Certified Nutritional Counseling (ACNC) or the Master Herbalist (MH) program - with a very small amount possibly due (no more than $120).

I'm afraid that the time limit has been enforced for all students that do not complete their program within the allotted time frame. The curriculum has changed quite a bit within the last 16 years. [redacted]'s curriculum is old enough that we cannot allow any student to complete that curriculum any longer. While we cannot issue refunds or allow her to complete an out-dated curriculum, we are doing our best to offer
solution s so that she may continue on and earn a designation for the fees she has pa id.
