Review: Took my auto to Dumb Dumbs for inspection. They told me I needed all 4 rotors and brakes and one ball joint. While I question the validity of that claim, my issue is regarding charges. After having the auto repaired and inspected, my daughter was driving the car and it began to make a loud screaming noise. Then the driver's side rear tire began locking up. The tire locked to the point when she tried to pull it in to a parking space to get it off the road, the tire was completely locked and the tire was dragged to the parking space. My daughter stated that she saw something fly off while she was driving, but had no idea what it was. I had a friend look at the tire/wheel and he state that a pin was missing out of the caliper. I called Dumb Dumbs and told them there was a problem with the caliper and I needed them to come get the vehicle and fix it. They had NO problem fixing the caliper. Woman at garage told me there was one pin loose and one pin completely missing on that caliper. They were obviously taking responsibility for the problem stemming from their repair because the parts and labor to fix the caliper was completely free. While I appreciated that they owned up to their mistake, they informed me there would be a $50 fee for towing the vehicle to their garage. The distance to tow the vehicle is close to a mile (probably less). I informed her that I didn't think we should be responsible for towing, considering the car wouldn't have needed towed without their error. She said it was up to the owner and he was home sick. She said she could call him and ask him to call me, but she didn't have the authority to waive it. SHE called me back, and said he wouldn't budge on it, that he was sticking with the $50 fee. Again, I voiced my displeasure with this decision. Knowing I wouldn't be able to pick up my car without payment of the fee, I told her I was not happy about it, but I guessed I really didn't have a choice. About ten minutes later, she called me back and said that he would split the difference with me and only charge me $25. I told her that's better, but I don't think I should have to pay anything. Especially because, I was not told ahead of time that the towing fee would be my responsibility. I told her that had I known they were going to charge me for the towing, as a member, I could have called AAA and had it towed for free.Desired Settlement: I realize $25 isn't very much money, but I can't believe a reputable business would expect a customer to pay a towing bill for a repair required because of their mistake. And had I not told her I didn't feel we should pay it, I would have had to pay $50. And if this is their common business practice, I would like others in the area who might consider taking their vehicle to Dumb Dumbs Auto Service, to be aware of their policies.

Review: I had my truck towed to dumb dumbs for a brown timing belt. Several weeks later, [redacted] called and said he had to send my heads to get acid dipped and I need to pay 300.00 now. My boyfriend told me to tell them not to and we'd get the vehicle. I walked down and he yelled at me that he already sent them and if that's the case he'll puy my truck outside all torn apart. I felt like I had to pay him to get my vehicle back. I waited and waited finally weeks later I got a call that is was done. My bf walked down to get it and was floored to receive a 2400$ bill. [redacted] told him I knew it was that much which I NEVER knew. I would of never did that, my truck want even worth that. [redacted] told us pay it or you won't get your truck. We were forced to pay. I had problems from day one. I leaked antifreeze all over and kept over heading. I kept bringing down to them and he said I sabotaging my motor so they have to fix it. They would even spray paint parts of my motor to see if anyone is. They replaced my radiator saying that was the leak. I kept leaking and over heating. Then they replaced the heating temp. Kept having problems. Finally, they liked at it again asks seen that the heads were cracked. [redacted] said he'll replace the motor at no charge. So, it meant that they weren't even looking my truck Oct they just kept replacing stuff that wasn't needed. I had to have rental cars while all of this went on for months. I have Addy least $600.00 in it. My truck never was the same. . Still had problems. Now, he's trying to still charge me for things that didn't need replaced and harassing me by calling and pounding on my door. They said 3 months ago they went to the magistrate and I've been waiting because I'm counter suing. Hell leave messages like give me my f[redacted]ING money. I've been bullied feeling like if I give them a little money they'll leave me alone. Money that I don't owe.! I'm a single mother alone in my house and have to worry if they are going to show up at my house. Pls stop himDesired Settlement: I think they should At leaSt owe half and my rental fees.
