The customer sent in an order at 5:00pm to be delivered by 6:00pm. However, due to thunderstorm and heavy rain that evening, orders had tripled, therefore causing all orders to be delayed. Also, because of such weather where roads were slippery, serious traffic and road
safety became an issue for our delivery drivers. At 7:30pm, the customer arrived at the restaurant to demand a refund. We promptly apologized for the unusual delay and gave the customer his refund. Furthermore, we wanted to show our sincerity and hopefully retain a good customer by offering him a discount on future visits. Subsequently, his order had arrived at their address. Our staff asked the customer whether he still wanted the food, and the customer said he wanted a refund instead. This demand, we understood, was to cancel the order, so our driver returned with it. This is the procedure when an order is cancelled; the food is returned to the resturant. We continue to strive for customer satisfaction and apologize for any misunderstanding
