Dun-Rite Relocations Reviews (2)

Review: I contracted with Dun-Rite Relocations in April 2013 for my move from NY to Orlando, FL for July 2013. When my belongings were delivered, I noticed I was missing an audio rack and 2 boxes. I contacted "[redacted]" and she confirmed the audio rack & 2 boxes were accidentally left behind at the warehouse and would be placed on the truck for the next delivery down to Florida. That was on July [redacted] (approximately). It is now November [redacted] and I haven't received my missing items and despite numerous emails and voice messages, she hasn't responded and now it seems like they are out of business. I contacted her by email on 7/**/13, 8/*/13, 8/**/13, 8/**/13, 8/**/13 & I've sent messages to them via their websiteDesired Settlement: I have since replaced the audio rack but the items in the boxes are irreplaceable. The boxes contained pictures of my kids and other family members that I have accumulated over the years and you cannot put a price tag on those items. I just want my remaining boxes delivered.

Response:

I would like to respond to [redacted] complaint regarding her missing ite[redacted]

I personally picked up [redacted] job and she and her family are wonderful people. I will admit she was missing 2 boxes and an audio rack. I sent the items down on a truck but they obviously never made it to her. I do believe that is the truth so I will personally settle it with her. We will send her claims form but I will not go through the insurance company because the claim is too old. [redacted] never mailed be anything so I was not aware she never received her ite[redacted] We were in a transition period, moving warehouses and the actual office. I do apologize for her inconvenience she is a wonderful woman. I will personally handle her claim.

Thank you,

Business

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this proposed resolution is satisfactory to me but it has not yet been fully resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: Well the moving company we hired has not responded to our phone calls for over two weeks now about our claim form for damaged products. She said she would send the form down immediately and never did. Another major issue is a piece of our furniture never arrived at all and she did answer after the initial drop off and told us how they threw it in the garage crusher because it broke. It was a family heirloom and very important to us and I understand things break but it still should have been delivered to us so we can decide what to do with it. We have insurance with the company for damaged products from the move and can not get in touch to file the claim. This is very frustrating and we need to replace these pieces of furniture but don't have the money to do so until these claims are processed and our refund/insurance money for it comes in. We were also charged an additional $800.50 for a storage unit because she could not have the truck move it within our desired time and was forced to pay it or they would not send our products down. We paid that amount and the day our belongings were in [redacted] the mover down here would not deliver until she paid him which delayed us and the men were not professional movers. They were hired off of [redacted] that morning at 9 am didn't arrive to 10:50 am after they were suppose to have pre-hired professional movers to be there by 7 AM. I feel like this whole process has been a horrifying scam.Desired Settlement: We have the photos of broken merchandise and want to collect the insurance money for our broken products and products that were not even delivered. And because of the inconvenience and us having to wait an extra month for our furniture I don't believe we should have been charged the extra $800.
