Duncan's Plumbing Reviews (1)

Work unfinished and work incorrectly completed. Duncan Plumbing and "remodeling" was hired mid May to complete extensive renovation to include: rebuild stairs in den for carpet replacement, remove water damaged flooring and replace with new subfloor and tile flooring in kitchen and bathroom, remove kitchen cabinets for general "clean up" and new hardware, remove tub and replace with tile shower to include shelves, hang and finish drywall in kitchen, dining room and hallway. Switch out light/plug switches with matching color, install new dishwasher and microwave and vent microwave. Relocate hot water heater from inside closet to outside and build closet for it. Re-install all trim, molding and doors. Small leak in kitchen ceiling to be repaired. During the course of remodeling I was told that the original cabinets could not be used and new cabinets would be needed. The owner went with me to order the cabinets. Upon receipt of the cabinets they sat for 3 weeks, owner looked them over, said we had 2 of the wrong size(too big) and had to be returned. Special ordered 2 more cabinets, waited 10 days for them to come in and then had to go back and re-order "filler" sections for the new cabinets because they were too small. Additional out of pocket costs for me. Bathroom shower was tiled without shelves as requested-contractor took it upon himself to finish the shower without them and without telling me. The shower is not finished, not trimmed out at all, shower doors were hung crooked and incorrectly, shower head was installed incorrectly, toilet (re-set after flooring) is wobbly, door trim and wall repair is unfinished in bathroom. Sheetrock/drywall is unfinished throughout the house. $100.00 worth of paint was wasted painting over unfinished drywall. Cabinets are unfinished. Electrical that worked fine prior to switching out the recepticals for color only no longer work. Hot water heater sat outside uncovered for weeks and now needs replacement. Bathroom tile is terrible. Grout lines that go from 1/4 in to over an inch in the shower that the contractor built the box for.Contractor also hired in April to complete new roof on garage and replacement of water damaged wood to include re-hanging gutters. September 2nd-still waiting for gutters to be hung. Contractor was paid in full with the exception of some materials he purchased. When requesting a draw on the remaining materials funds I told him no more money would be paid until the job was finished so he stopped showing up leaving me with a half finished house and no gutters on garage. The job was started May 15th and as of September still not finished. I have attempted many calls to the company and either not get through or do not receive a return call or I am told they will be out to work on it but then they never show up. This should be illegal to do to someone! Desired SettlementI request the work to be completed in a timely manner. Within 2 weeks. Bathroom to be re-tiled, shower head to be installed correctly, shower doors to be installed correctly, shelves to be added per original request, all sheetrock/drywall to be finished and repainted. Cabinets to be finished, microwave to be vented outside of house. Kitchen ceiling leak to be repaired and ceiling patched. Electrical to be repaired back to working order.
