Dune

Review: [redacted] of Dune was contacted regarding unfinished work for repairs on furniture at my home. He sent [redacted], an employee of Dune, who reviewed the scope of work. [redacted] was informed that the surface of a lamp table that had a gouge needed to be taken to their facility for refinishing. Since this lamp table is part of a pair, he was informed that both tables needed to be refinished at the same time to ensure a match in color. He agreed with my opinion, and a quote was prepared with the explicit understanding that these lamp tables would be re-finished offisite. After [redacted] contacted me that the work would be finished the next day, I asked why the lamp tables had not been removed. I was informed that [redacted] stated it was unnecessary, but no adjustment to my bill was offered even though this issue was discussed with [redacted]. I was informed to leave the balance of payment before I was provided an opportunity to inspect the repairs. On the next business day, I contacted [redacted] and informed him that the items that he had placed on the nightstands had stuck to the surface. The nightstand surface was still sticky, and later I noted the same problem on the bedroom dresser. On the weekend, the first time that I inspected the nightstand in daylight, the gouge was still present. Photographs document the identical gouge pre and post their work. Last, the desk had nicks that were supposed to be sanded, filled and stained. Instead, Dune colored the nicks and did not fill them. After many calls and e mails requesting rectification of these issues, [redacted] cancelled a scheduled visit, and later did not respond to multiple requests to correct these issues. This action required me to seek the assistance of another refinisher recommended. I contacted [redacted]ho recommended [redacted] and [redacted]. [redacted] inspected the work of Dune, and informed me that the French policy on the nightstands and dresser was applied unevenly resulting in several area that were not dry at the time that the items were placed on the furniture. At the time of his visit, these areas were still sticky. He stated that the desk and lamp tables needed to be taken into his shop so the surface could be sanded and the two lamp tables could be refinished. His work was done exceptionally, and there were no issues with the quality of the work.I contacted [redacted] requesting payment for the costs of repairing itemes that he did not do properly. He denied my request. I was informed today, April ** 2014, that he contacted [redacted] and [redacted] regarding the work conducted by them. [redacted] let me know that he told [redacted] exactly what he saw and why the work done by Dune was not done properly.Desired Settlement: I ask the Revdex.com to intervene and have me reimbursed for the full amount of the repairs to correct the poor quality effort by Dune. Specifically, I seek restitution of $4,896.25.
