Dunn Landscape Construction

Review: Dunn Landscape and Construction was contracted to do a paver pool patio. Along with the patio, part of the job was to fill and repair lawn including seed, as well as to come back and finish installing the pavers that were disrupted when the pool fence was installed.That was 4 months ago. After promising to come back on several occasions to finish the job, the company will no longer return phone calls or answer the phone.Desired Settlement: Would like the work completed, per the contract and the promises of [redacted] Dunn, the owner of the company. The other option would be a partial refund, so that I could then pay someone else to finish the job I paid Dunn Landscape and Construction to perform.

THE CUSTOMER, [redacted], WAS TOLD TO CONTACT ME AS SOON AS THE FENCE WAS COMPLETE. THIS WAS TO TAKE PLACE SHORTLY AFTER MY PAVER INSTALLATION. THE CUSTOMER THEN WAITED 2-3 MONTHS BEFORE CALLING ME REGARDING GRASS SEED INSTALLATION. AT THIS POINT I WAS INVOLVED IN A NUMBER OF OTHER PROJECTS AND SIMPLY COULD NOT GET BACK TO HIS HOUSE. I HAD TALKED TO CUSTOMER SEVERAL TIMES AND HE HAD MENTIONED REPAIRING LAWN IN THE SPRING, I TOLD HIM I THOUGHT I WOULD STILL BE ABLE TO DO THE LAWN THIS SEASON. DUE TO COLD WEATHER AND SEVERE LACK OF RAIN I DECIDED I WOULD BE UNABLE TO INSTALL SEED AT THIS TIME BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT GERMINATE. I AM STILL WILLING TO INSTALL GRASS SEED NEXT SPRING IF HE WANTS ME TO DO THE WORK.

I am rejecting this response because: I cannot accept a response that simply isn't accurate.

I have attached a series of messages between [redacted] Dunn and myself that should pretty much sum up the situation. As you can see from the dates, I did not wait 2 to 3 months.

It was [redacted]'s decision to not plant the seed initially, claiming the fence company would disturb the area (which they did not). I was fine with that, and would have been fine with that, if in fact [redacted] stayed true to his word and in fact came back, as promised.

Unfortunately, it's either been too hot, or too cold, or [redacted] has been too busy, to complete the job.

On my end, I simply would like what I paid for. 25k is a lot of money. You expect to be treated better than that by a company, and an individual that you put that much faith and trust in.

[redacted] keeps telling me he will come out and finish.....and I keep telling [redacted], Great! I'm here. But thus far, it hasn't happened.

Here is my last message from [redacted] - "I can come out by the end of the week to fix pavers but the lawn will have to wait till April. It's just too cold."

I'll be here all week and would love to have the pavers portion of the job completed. It's about 15 minutes of work or less. As for the grass, April would be fine.

We will be there tomorrow hopefully to finish. I think we should wait till fence goes up to finish lawn because there going to trash the lawn areas when they install fence. SHORTLY AFTER I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM Revdex.com WITH [redacted]'S COMPLAINT I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER AND APOLOGIZED FOR THE MISUNDERSTANDING AND TOLD HIM I WOULD STOP BY TO CUT IN A FEW PIECES OF BRICK AROUND A FENCE POST. I FINISHED CUTTING IN THE FEW PIECES OF BRICK AROUND THE FENCE POST THEN DISCUSSED WITH THE CUSTOMER THAT IT WOULD BE BEST TO FINISH SMALL LAWN REPAIR IN THE SPRING DUE TO COLD WEATHER. THE CUSTOMER AGREED THAT I SHOULD FINISH REPAIR IN THE SPRING AND THAT HE WAS SATISFIED WITH THE JOB.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

[redacted] and I discussed this as [redacted] mentioned and have chalked it up to a misunderstanding and lack of communication on both of our parts. [redacted] finished the last few pavers and the entire job looks beautiful. We have had lots of compliments.
