Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/12/17) */ On November [redacted] came to American Brake & Muffler complaining that his LaCross was overheating – Vehicle was driven in the garage and checked to see f there as coolant in radiatorThere was hardly any coolantThe techs added coolant and it leaked out as fast as it was poored inHe inspected and that it was leaking form the coolant lines that was part of the tensioner assemblyThe Tech also noticed that there was stop leak in his radiatorWe told Mr [redacted] that he need the tensioner to stop the lead and should flush the radiator and change his thermostat to clean out the stop leak that had been installed prior to coming to American BrakeWe asked the customer to come inside the garage to show him the part that was leakingThe customer at that time agreed to have the tensioner changed and declined to coolant flush and thermostatAfter completing the work, the tech test drove the vehicle for a short distance and brought the vehicle back into the garage to check if any antifreeze was leakingAt that time non was leakingCustomer picked vehicle up and drive awayHe called afterwards to let us know that vehicle was leakingWe told him to return to the shop for inspectionThe tech noticed that now it was leaking form the timing cover gasketWhen the vehicle was picked up by customer nothing was leaking, but after customer drove it a little longer the engine build up pressure and started to leak from the weakest area, being the timing cover gasketCustomer declined further work to be doneAt a later date his wife called us to complaintI explained to her that the work that done as not misdiagnosed and the she should come in so we can show her what the tensioner assembly looks like with coolant line being part of itShe never showed up Thank you American Break & Muffler Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/12/17) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I spoke with MsMaria serveal time the day the vehicle was at her shop and my husband never called there he returned minuted after leaving because it began to over heat againYes, there was stop leak in the vehicle because American muffler place it thereI didn't return to the shop because the tensioner could have been tampered with after I stressed my concernsAlso my husband was told to come up with some money and they see what they can doAll I want is my money returnedAlso why wasn't my vehicle fully inspected to make sure the tensioner was the real issueIt was never placed on the diagnostic scanner etcIt took them minutes to figure out the wrong issueAgain all I want is my money returned

added coolant and it leaked out as fast as it was poored in. He inspected and that it was leaking form the coolant lines that was part of the tensioner assembly. The Tech also noticed that there was stop leak in his radiator. We told Mr. [redacted] that he need the tensioner to stop the lead and should flush the radiator and change his thermostat to clean out the stop leak that had been installed prior to coming to American Brake. We asked the customer to come inside the garage to show him the part that was leaking. The customer at that time agreed to have the tensioner changed and declined to coolant flush and thermostat. Customer picked vehicle up and drive away. He called afterwards to let us know that vehicle was leaking. We told him to return to the shop for inspection. I spoke with Ms. Maria serveal time the day the vehicle was at her shop and my husband never called there he returned 5 minuted after leaving because it began to over heat again. Yes, there was stop leak in the vehicle because American muffler place it there. I didn't return to the shop because the tensioner could have been tampered with after I stressed my concerns. Also my husband was told to come up with some money and they see what they can do. All I want is my money returned. Also why wasn't my vehicle fully inspected to make sure the tensioner was the real issue. It was never placed on the diagnostic scanner etc. It took them 30 minutes to figure out the wrong issue. Again all I want is my money returned.
