Not going back
Car wouldn't start. AAA jumpstarted it and told me battery was very low. Went to Dunn Tire on Union Rd West Seneca NY.

Mechanic at Dunn told me there was a Crack in the battery so I had them replace the battery.

A month later car wouldn't start again. Went back to Dunn and now I was told I needed a new alternator. I asked them to replace the battery free of charge since it was showing a low charge again.

Now 2 months later car won't start again. I went to a different car repair place. They replaced my battery and checked everything else. No further issues now.

I paid over $800 for the alternater and battery at Dunn tire and still had problems. Makes me wonder if they even replaced the battery after I came in twice about it and if I even needed that new alternater.

I definitely will not be going back. It was very frustrating to keep having the problem of my car not starting not to mention the time I had to put into all of this.

Very disappointed and being a senior I'm out all this money.

Never expected Dunn to pull a scam
My girlfriend and her daughter have been Dunn customers for several years. Recently she needed to replace the OEM tires on her SUV. I found some good tires for her on the Dunn web site and pulled a quote for her to take in, which she did. When they rang it up the total was more and when asked why the service writer said that it was for new valve stems that they needed to replace and were "required" because the two (?) little valves might leak (huh? you mean the Schrader valve? why would they leak on a car with 40K?) I have bought tires twice from Mavis for my 6 year old car and they never tried to pull this. I have to wonder if the extra $24 was worth losing two repeat customers.

Called dunn tire to fix my reoccurring issue of my tires going slowly flat ( bought and installed by dunn ). I thought the number I called was the actual store but they have a centralized call center apparently. I called to make an appointment, but the woman who I talked to told me that I didn't need one and just to walk in. After arriving at the store and told them what I needed, they promptly asked if I had an appointment. I told them about my call with customer service and the told me it be about a 3-4 hour wait until they might be able to pull my vehicle in. Customer service has no idea what the stores are doing and have no business making appointments ( hahaha ) , or telling people just to walk in. Repeat customers must not be high on their list,...they lost this one. After several sets of tires and vehicle work over the years. Im Done with Dunn...

Review: Tires mounted on vehicle by Dunn Tire (invoice # [redacted].) Within 4 days front p.s. tire detaches from wheel at highway speed. No blowout, puncture or leak found when taken back to Dunn Tire. I was offered a free remount on the front p.s. by the General Manager. I return to shop a couple days later to purchase new tire and verify that I may have my new wheel delivered to the location. I am told I have to speak with the General Manager who is out of the office. Within minutes acknowledgement that the service merits a ($15) partial refund is made over the phone by the General Manager. However he recants his previous commitment to remount a tire for free and speaks over me until the end of the phone call.

This option is unacceptable as my original invoice of about $40 would have been sufficient if the service had not lead to further damage of my vehicle. Now I am in need of a new wheel and tire costing about $200.

I should include information about poor customer service, disrespect, and intimidation by the general manager and staff, but this can be addressed elsewhere.Desired Settlement: A reasonable accommodation by Dunn Tire would in be:

1. A refund of the faulty service that lead to the destruction of my tire. $40

2. A free mount of a new tire valued at around $20

Both requests 1. and 2. are reasonable and attainable. Both were agreed on by the General Manager at one point.

A fair parallel of this outcome would be, if Dunn Tire took weeks to mount 2 tires, but because of the long wait the charges were reversed.

Response:

Because of a misunderstanding between the customer and our store on W12th St, we have agreed to refund the entire amount the customer paid for the mounting if his tires. The customer was spoken to personally and told us this was a satisfactory resolution. Thank you.

Review: Dunn Tire....Customer Satisfaction....What a joke !!! Bought (4) [redacted] truck tires on 12-30-2011, Put less than 20,000 miles on tires, cost $811.92. Now all four tires nearly bald tread and Dry Rot and Cracking on each tire. Salesman said he would give a Cosmetic Discount of $65 dollars each tire.Tires are almost unsafe to drive.Tire Warranty no where close to 40K that is on there web site.Desired Settlement: Defective tires should have replacement.

We were dealing with two issues in Erie at the same time and I made a mistake and responded to you with the information we had on the other customer.
