Dunn's Garage Reviews (4)

For the purpose of brevity and respect, I am only going to address a couple of items. The damage on Mr. [redacted] wheel should have been easily noticed from inside our well-lit service delivery garage.  Secondly, the extent of damage in question is virtually impossible from our equipment. Mr. [redacted] consulted with three wheel and tire professionals.  Their possible theories of the damage were:Looks like monkeys did it. 99% chance they jacked it up, on the balancer and the tire bar.Honestly could have dropped the wheel on its face.Pure carelessness, they were just throwing stuff around. We too are wheel and tire professionals.  Any technician that performs wheel and tire services all must pass General Motors certification testing.  In addition, on-site training is provided by Hunter Engineering beginning with concept theory and discussion and finish up with hands-on training.  All training material is kept up-to-date through a rigorous curriculum review process. My rebuttal to the above-mentioned theories are this:We don’t employee monkeys.A tire bar is not used on the balancer. We couldn’t have dropped the wheel without a tire on it.  It is clamped in the tire changer before and after changing the tire.  The face would not touch the ground as it would be protected by the tire.We do not just throw “stuff” around.Lastly, a CNC Machine finished wheel can be repaired.  We have had repair specialists do this for us in the past including my personal wheel on a 2002 Trans Am that I personally damaged.I am sorry the wheel is damaged, but the extent and type of damage are unfounded to have happened in our care.Respectfully, Tom F[redacted]

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Not sure where I need to start so I'll proceed below. The tires mentioned had zero to do with the dealership other than Fiehrer Motors were the ones to install them. That was a complaint I had with GM in general for false advertisement. See as a logical person, I can determine that it boils down to a he said/she said argument. So let me provide something worth noting. When the truck was finished, I did look at the tires that were replaced. I walked around as a glance. As you can look up at your leisure, 07/07/2017 it stormed fairly severely. Therefore I got out as soon as possible. Personally you wouldn't think a dealership would scratch the wheel. After the weather yielded on 07/08/2017 I noticed, but what can you do on a saturday? On 07/10/2017 I took it in, and Kelly the service manager stated their machines couldn't have done it. He suggested going to a wheel repair place. I went to a wheel doctor where I spoke with I believe Gene and like I said in the initial complaint; the wheel is cnc finished and cannot be redone. I'm a business and kinesiology major, my knowledge on wheels is minor, so I ask him what his thoughts were. Giving him zero bias other than I had new tires installed. He said "it looks like monkeys did it." +1 513-[redacted]. The number provided is the [redacted] phone number for cincinatti. None of us are wheel specialist, so ill provide numbers for those that are. Justin C[redacted], manager at [redacted] west chester stated. "There is a 99% chance they jacked it up, on the balancer and the tire bar. And honestly could have dropped the wheel on its face." His number is +1 513-[redacted] David B[redacted] "Pure carelessness, they were just throwing stuff around. You would have to be incredibly negligent to do this. Good chance they dropped the wheel on its face". +1 937-[redacted] So there are three wheel and tire profesaionals and their numbers dor documentation.Furthermore, if you look at the pictures included you notice there isnt any damage on the actual rim of the wheel, its all inside. Odd place for wheel damage. Kelly the service manager like prebiously stated said the machines couldn't have done it. The truck was probably hit. Which might be believable other than there is zero damage to any other section of the vehicle including the tire, not even a scuff. Then they attempted to say that due to the all terrain tires, I could have scuffed them duing my off road adventures. To debunk that, the most its been off road is parking in cades cove tennessee. It has black top. The next thing they attempted to say was maybe near where I camp. I don't own a tint, or a camper. So thats false. My personal favorite, was the "f150 spot". There was a mud hole in my front yard, where I kept my 99 f150. That spot was filled last summer and now just has gravel and grass. *last image uploaded*So in essence, Fiehrer motors has given possible causes. But I have debunked all, and provided the phone numbers of wheel and tire expert's. I wouldn't hesitate to get written statements as well. Even go to a few more facilities to get opinions. If I scratch my $47,000 truck, i'm mad at myself. When someone else does it, and they do not take care of their mistakes I get irritated. I hope I have provided adequate information, and that we utilize all areas of documentation and photo evidence as to why I reject and would like my wheel fixed right or replaced with an oem wheel. Regards,[redacted]

RE:          ID [redacted]   Dear [redacted]   It seems there was some offense taken to the “monkey” comment, obviously there are no monkeys there. Although one of the managers did run over a cone when I look my mustang in for a trade evaluation, but that is a different story. Like a friend at [redacted] said after telling them what happened “we have said the same thing to customers after we scratched a wheel” it really isn’t hard to do. Speaking from experience working at [redacted] just because they pass a certification test, doesn’t mean there will never be a screw up.  We all get our license, yet we sometimes get tickets. My response to what Mr. F[redacted] said is simple. The tire bar is used to remove/put the tire on. There is damage from that, zero doubt. The gouges In the center of the wheel is what is the issue. What can be seen in the sunlight from far away. We can throw theories back and forth, but the evidence suggest that the wheel was not curbed, the truck was not hit, and the wheel has serious damage in a circular pattern. Obviously the dealership will decline their doing. I’ve never seen a place own up, especially after the fact. Yet I am sticking to my guns, there is more than enough evidence to support the damage on the wheel was the result of something happening when the tire was off and wheel off the truck on 07/07/2017. Weather that be them changing the wheel with another truck, someone that was at work that didn’t want to do the job. There is zero evidence to suggest that the way I drive, or driving in any sense could cause issues on the face like this and not the tire.    I will completely drop this because I have wheel care for the truck, if he can provide a place which can do CNC alloy wheel repair and make it look oem. Every place I have contacted cannot. All I want, is to have my truck look new as long as I own it. I had my Mustang 3yrs and it had a single rock chip I couldn’t avoid. Zero damage other than that.   [redacted]

August 2, 2017 Cincinnati Revdex.com (Cincinnati, OH) 1 E. 4th Street, Suite 600 Cincinnati, OH 45202   RE: ID of [redacted]   Dear [redacted]: Mr. [redacted] had new tires replaced at the direction of General Motors on July 7th, 2017.  The vehicle in question was a 2017...

GMC Sierra, VIN # [redacted].  [redacted] and the truck had 12,984 miles at the time of service.  The tires were replaced as goodwill, because Mr. [redacted] was dissatisfied with the description of the tread. After completion of service, we witnessed Mr. [redacted] inspecting all four tires in our enclosed service delivery bay before leaving.  The following Monday, Mr. [redacted] returned stating we had damaged his wheels.  The damage in question is not consistent or possibly capable of the type of evidenced damage. We are offering no resolution for this situation.   Respectfully, Tom F[redacted]Fiehrer Buick GMC
