Same issue as the other negative review about scheduled pickup If you don't mind waiting around and getting the runaround about when the movers will arrive, then pick this company We are on three days and counting They'll be there at 9am, now 11am, now pm, now pm, had some trouble, will you be there at pm? How about tomorrow morning? Same deal on the 2nd day Company knows we have a house closing, airline tickets booked, and wasting hours upon hours waiting for movers who are never going to show up We are guaranteed the movers will be there at am on Day Today is Day and is pm Guess what, no movers We are going to file a lawsuit against this company for our deposit and lost wages

I moved from the move was very smoothly I really love the fact that my agent provide me with all my charges from the beginning which makes this whole transition a lot better not to mention this was a last minute move since my job got transfer but Duntara moving and storage took the job they picked up and delivered my items on time and within the window

This company possesses absolutely no professionalism and customer service Everyone understands that moving across country comes with headaches but this company has made it their mission to make the experience miserable
The experience included:
No follow up
Ever changing ETA's (which we had to hound them for)
Missing items (still no response about these pieces)
Poor customer service
Items held hostage
Not only is American Movers and Storage a poor company to work with, they also hired very incompetent companies to do the work
PLEASE avoid this company at all costs as there were multiple people involved and everyone had a very poor experience

DO NOT USE AMERICAN MOVING AND STORAGE SERVICES OUT OF FTLAUDERDALE, FL!
We paid a deposit in May, to have them pick up our furnishings in late July and delivered in Florida At the last minute they cancelled the pick up date They then strung us along with new pidates Contractually we were to have hours notice of when piwould occur We got hours Since it was such a fiasco to even get them there we took it We are now in Florida waiting for our furnishingsThe operations manager, ***, was horrible to work with Not only did he not appear to know what in the heck was going on, but when he was having problems with the other trucking companies he was working with he blamed it on me! He was terrible We also got a statement that said we owe another $1,when they deliver I'm sick and disgusted Hope you read this before you get suckered

I received a quote from this company and decided to go with them as they had the lowest price and did not have best reviews of all the other options. They moved my belongings from Lauderdale lakes FL to Maryland The movers showed up on time, were quick and and professional , and the delivery was no problem . I would use them again if I needed, thanks Duntara .

My family and I recently moved with American Moving and Storage Services from New York to Florida. I wanted to take a moment to compliment the office staff and driver for their professionalism. The driver arrived and packed my hluse with care and loaded my furniture like an expert. I would recommend this company to anyone interested in moving. They were fantastic.

Just finishing up college I had an offer for a job up state that needed to me to start ASAP. I was glad to stumble upon Duntara Moving & Storage Company. They were very understanding and helped me move out of FL to upstate PA quickly and ON TIME. I would be happy to use this company again, and will recommend others for a quick and easy move. Also, can't beat the price for a newly graduated college student!!! Thanks Duntara.

My move over July 26-28 was one of the better moves I had experienced. This move required deliveries in St Simons Island GA and Naples FL. Both stops were smooth, well handled and on time. Everything was packaged and labeled very well, nothing broken or lost at either location. Staff including placing of the order and tracking of deliveries was very good and timely. The delivery crews were exceptional. They knew what they we doing packaging, loading and unloding. No wasted time or effort and very helpfull moving and setting up.

I was very pleased with my move. The guys were courteous from beginning to end. The pickup crew was Ricky and Johnny. They arrived on time and were done quickly. I was surprised when my items arrived undamaged on the day promised. I have heard so many horror stories. Carlos and his crew set up my beds as promised. Overall, I was impressed with this move. If I have to move again, I'll definitely give these guys a shot.

I signed up with American Moving and Storage because of their "hands on, family owned business" sales pitch. Big mistake. They have had our belongings for over 5 weeks (contract stated 5-21 days), and they have never contacted me once since I made the deposit back in March, I had to call for everything. I have called 5x asking politely where our items are and each time I was given a date exactly two days in the future in which the "dispatchers would call" and schedule me delivery. Nobody has ever called, not once. Even after asking to call me on a daily basis with updates once we reached the two week late date.

Once your items are picked up you can only talk to "[redacted]" who is nice enough but won't give her last name or provide you with any information about where your belongings are, the feeling I get is she just tells you two days to give you hope, but really has no idea.

Our initial salesman [redacted] was nice enough but he was out on medical who was replaced by a kid named [redacted] who was very pushy and inexperienced.

We have given up, purchased new furniture and I have called my lawyer to begin the arbitration process.

Why isn't there an option for no stars?? If you want a company who will constantly lie to you - and offer false promises then this is the company for you. I have moved cross country three times - this was the first time I used American Moving - and it has been the worst experience ever. Our sales rep [redacted] called us once a day to book the company for our move to AZ from Boston. They picked up our stuff on 6/25 and since then we have barely been able to get in touch with him for any updates. Here were [redacted] promises: #1 the move would take 5-7 days "based on his vast experience in the business" - (the DOT window of 21 days was a precaution in case something happened on the road) . #2 Once the movers packed the truck we would know the driver's route/itinerary. (for the first 3 days we couldn't even get in touch with [redacted] or the driver for any updates) #3 On July 3 - as we were still trying to figure out where enroute our truck [redacted] said the truck was in FL and computer on the truck had been stolen and would take a couple of days to replace - IN FLORIDA (again our move is from Boston to Arizona)- our stuff was now sitting in their warehouse - but he assured us (lie number three) that the truck would leave Florida on Monday 7/7 (now 12 days and counting) and be in AZ on Thursday 7/10. A call to the company today - and speaking to a manager we found out that the truck will not leave leave Florida until Wed...because they are waiting to add another load!! This is an awful business - they will hold on to your stuff while they try to book other jobs on your route - and lie to you through the whole process.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY....They were suppose to call me to schedule the pick up and by the end of the day no call. I had to call them to find out that they were not going to complete my move. [redacted] the dispatcher advised that I go with a different company to complete my move because he could not commit to the move. Now I have been waiting over three days to get my deposit refund and still no return phone call.

I moved from Fort Lauderdale to Douglasville Georgia last week. I was very leery about using a moving company. But, Duntara moving and storage was great. [redacted] was very helpful and coordinating everything for me. The boxes were delivered on request the same day. The day of my moving went very smoothly. Everything was packed and loaded on the truck like it was their own merchandise. I received a call the night before my things were delivered to confirm the delivery time. My delivery came right on time and everything was unpacked to to my satisfaction. I recommend this moving company for your next move.

I have a very good experience since the beginning with this company, Tom was very helpful in all the details for the process and guided me in al the steps.
I had to move my belongs from a storage in NJ to Orlando Fl.
Everything was done well and precise , by Tom and by Carlos the driver.
Carlos did the extra mile to help and to do his job well done.
If I have to move again, definitely I will do it with them.
Highly recommended!!!

My family and I recently had to move our household goods from Boca Raton, FL to Boynton Beach, FL. After researching what moving company would be the best for our local move, we decided to go with American Moving and Storage Services and couldn't have been happier with our decision. I first spoke to the friendly office staff and then a sales person by the name of [redacted]. He was extremely helpful and his advise on what we could do to save money by doing certain things ourselves was very nice. He explained everything that would happen on the day of the move and at first I was a bit nervous wondering if this was to good to be true but it turned out to be better. The day before the move, we received a call from [redacted] in the office and was given a time slot for the next day. My wife and I were finishing up the last odds and ends when the drivers [redacted] and [redacted] arrived. They were extremely nice and funny too. They made our move look so easy when we knew most of our items were very heavy. They put everything in the truck and followed us to our new home in Boynton Beach. When we got there, they parked and came in to see where everything was going. [redacted] started taking everything off the truck and [redacted] brought it in the house. We had a very heavy sofa and old projection screen TV we wanted to put in the den upstairs and they had no problems carrying it up the stairs. My wife and I were in amazement as to the strength of these two young men. When everything was off the truck, they asked us to sign our paperwork and my wife and I were so happy with the experience we tipped them more then we originally had planned too. When they left, my wife and I looked at each other and said we will never move our stuff again and would hire American Moving and Storage Services. It was worth paying the money to avoid hurting ourselves with what the guys make look so easy. We have their numbers programmed in our phones and will recommend them to everyone we know. We just wanted to give a great big thanks to American Moving and Storage Services, [redacted] and [redacted] and the friendly office staff. You were all great and we will be using you again when we need a mover. Thank you again!!!

Having made several long distance moves over the years there was such a difference in my most recent moving experience that I wanted to thank not only the courteous professionals that moved our belongings but also the office staff who were knowledgeable and cared about the move as much as I did. Would recommend their services.

Worst moving company I ever worked with. It appears from the beginning they start telling lies.
Before getting deposit they were calling 3 times a day, but after getting deposit I was calling multiple times a day but no single call back return.
Pick up timing - no coordination, they were supposed to call 24 hours in advance but they called me less then 12 hours and told me that they will call next day with more specific time. Rather than calling they showed up on my door at 8 am. Crew was terrible and rude. Not enough blankets to cover my furniture and yes majority of my furniture is damaged now........
This company is fraud, don't use them.................

I used this company to move my elderly mom from her large house in Georgia that we grew up in to a smaller house close to me in Florida. We looked at several companies and had estimates made and their price was the best. What I was most impressed with was how they took care of her furniture and how carefully they wrapped her items to make sure they traveled and arrived safe. They came when promised and were very patient with my mom who was still "deciding" on keeping certain items or leaving them behind. Moving a lifetime of stuff is traumatic enough for an older person and I'm glad we used this company because they made the experience positive for my family.

Very professional, helpful. All my items came fine. They did not charge extra money.

My wife and I used this mover to move from New York to Florida in October . Our sales representative [redacted] was very professional and helped us out a lot in keeping our move cost down. He told us what to look for in a moving company and what we would need to pack ourselves. The estimate he gave us was very reasonable. We set up some dates of Oct. 5th and 6th. We then paid a 30% down payment towards our move and ere told we would need to pay 20% at pickup to our agent. On Oct. 4th we received a call from one of their agents All Points Mover from NJ. They told us that they had us on their schedule for the following day Oct. 5th between 9-10 am. At 8 am on the 5th we received a call from the driver [redacted] that he would be at our door right around 9:30. He showed up at my door with two helpers and all three men were very polite. [redacted] did a walk through and checked with us on all the items that we were moving. We had forgotten a few items that I did not go over with [redacted] and [redacted] stated he would give us a quick written revision estimate to the order so we would know what the extra cost could be. I wasn't sure about this new written estimate so I called [redacted] He assured me that by law the agent has to give us a new estimate before they start loading and because it is a non binding estimate I will only pay for the weight we have. That will be determined after the truck gets to the scale and gets the full weight. [redacted] stated if we had not missed the items in the beginning they wouldn't have to give you a revised estimate now. but the price would have been higher on the original estimate so everything sort of equals out in the end. We agreed to the new estimate signed their shipping documents and they started to wrap our furniture with their blankets. The way they packed that truck was unbelievable. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and in safe and timely manor. Our things didn't fill the truck up to the back door but is was 3/4 full. I asked [redacted] when they would be in Florida and he stated I would have to call their office or give [redacted] a call in a day or so and they would have the balance that was due at delivery and a date and time. He explained he get his orders from his dispatcher who set the schedules...About a day and a half went by and we received a call from [redacted] He first asked us how are pick up went and wanted to know if there was any problems he could help us with. I told him there really wasn't and problems. my wife and I enjoyed the crew with their work ethics. [redacted] let us know our balance of $1448.16 due and that our delivery as of right now is scheduled for Oct. 10th or 11th. and as the driver got closer he will narrow down the date and time for us. The driver will also have the weight tickets for his records to prove his weight. He said to hang on to them in case we move again. On Oct, 9th we received a call from [redacted]. He was the new driver delivery our items to Florida. He stated he got tied up on a delivery before ours because the customer had a problem with a closing. But he would be delivery us on Oct. 11th between 2-4 pm. At 1:30 on the 11th [redacted] called and he was 1/2 hour away..He showed up at 2:05 pm. He and clean cut looking men got out of the truck and showed us all the paperwork along with the weight ticket that reflected my total weight. With the few items I had forgotten about on the first estimate I was still only over by 248 lbs which cost me an additional $104.16. on top of my original estimate of 3200 lbs @.42 per lb.=$1344.00. So My total cost came to be #1448.16 and everything was put in the place where we wanted it in our new home and everything was reassembled in our new home that they disassembled in our old home. It was a very pleasant experience during a very stressful time. We will be recommending this company to anyone we know that needs a mover...They do local moving here in the state of Florida as well
