Credit Union is risking customer safety by asking for date of birth to make a small cash deposit. Broadcasting this kind of PII is not only unessessary, but could be used by other customers present there.

It is also unfriendly and puts banking back into the Stone Age.

A clerk will say , " you could have found THAT debit card on the street," as a justification to insult you.

Keep in my, no withdrawals or cash back were requested , and account was in good condition with no overdraft history and plenty of cleared funds.

No other banks act this way in my decades of experience, and not all clerks are this impolite.

Tragically, clerks are brainwashed and powerless to do otherwise.

A call to customer service will get the same mnic explanation.
