I was satisfied with my medical careThe problem stems from unethical billing practicesSpecifically, my last visit with Dr [redacted] was two years ago and after two years, I received a cryptic hand-written bill in the mailThe untimely nature of the bill called into question (at least in my mind) its validity and accuracyThe bill was difficult to understand and my calls to the billing clerk ended up in rude responses and "hang ups" on the part of the billing clerkWhen my wife then called up about the bill about three weeks after we had originally received it, the response from the billing clerk was that it had been "sent to collection." An outdated billing system, rude billing clerk, untimely payment processing, and policies which send three week old bills to "collection" eroded my trust in this doctor and the office in generalSave yourself unnecessary aggravation and go elsewhere for medical services

My complaint is about the mistreatment, unprofessionalism, and lack of skill exhibited by Dr*** Gallagher, Dr*** Agnich, and Melissa (the bookkeeper) at DuPage Podiatry Center in Woodridge, IL My relationship with this office started on December 15, when I brought in my 10-year old daughter Sophia, after badly hurting one of her toes during an accident At the first appointment, DrGallagher noticed my daughter’s ingrown and possibly infected toe nails on each of her big toes He said he could permanently correct her ingrown toe nails but needed to taking care of the possible infection first I agreed to waiting until her infections were gone before doing any kind of surgical procedure on her toes Sophia’s first surgery took place on March 2, on her left toe The next one took place on March 9, for her right toe DrGallagher said both procedures went very well and she would not have to deal with ingrown toe nails ever again After the surgeries, we had followed the after-care instructions exactly the way we were supposed to for my daughter’s toes to heal properlyOver the course of the next five months, we had four folloffice visits to monitor my daughter’s healing progress During each visit, he said she was healing nicely and he saw no signs of any part of her ingrown toe nails growing back Those follvisits took place on: 3-16-2015, 4-13-2015, 6-8-2015, and 8-10- During this time, I had made payments to the office totaling $ However, while looking at my daughter’s toes approximately seven months later, I was very upset to see the ingrown toe nail on her right toe had been growing backThe piece that grew back is in the exact spot where her nail was supposed to stop growing, leaving a small gap in between her main nail and the nail growthOn 3-29-2016, I called the office to tell DrGallagher about the problem The other podiatrist (Dr*** Agnich) answered my call and would not let me speak to DrGallagher about the problem, telling me I needed to come in for an office visit so he could examine her again I asked if I would be charged another $for this visit I was told yes because I would be “taking up the doctor’s time” I recognized DrGallagher’s voice in the background speaking loudly and rudely instructing DrAgnich to find out when I was going to pay them the rest of the money I owe He also said he was not going to see my daughter for free I said had pictures of what her toe looks like now and would be happy to email them, but that offer was rejected by DrAgnich I was also told that I need to set up a payment plan I told them I was not going to pay them anything more until the issue with my daughter’s failed ingrown toe nail surgery was assessed by DrGallagher and corrected, free of charge DrAgnich went on to threaten me with sending my bill to collections if I refused to pay themThroughout this two-year ordeal, Dr*** Gallagher, Dr*** Agnich and Melissa the bookkeeper treated me and my daughter extremely unfairly and unprofessionally for the reasons stated above The DuPage Podiatry Center puts money way ahead of patient care I have since filed a formal complaint with *** to remove DuPage Podiatry Center from their in-network list of preferred physicians

The same thing happened to me! Rude billing clerk who hung up on me when questioning herI would also advise avoiding this office although I really liked the doctor
