Mr. [redacted] mis-diagnosed the problem, didn't perform any work except to drive to my house, and charged me $65.00. The next day I fixed it myself. We called and left a message Mr. [redacted] contact us about servicing our refrigerator. Mr. [redacted] called back to schedule an appointment. Over the phone he asked for the make and model, and the nature of the problem. I gave him the following information:Make: Samsung Mfg. date 2009Model: RF263Problem: Refrigerator is staying at around 58 degrees and there ice is filling the air vents inside the refrigerator.He told me "There must be more to the model number than that". I looked again and found a label with more information. I gave him the complete model number; RF263AEWP/XAA. He knew exactly what model it was before he came. When Mr. [redacted] arrived I showed him the refrigerator, which I had emptied, and again explained the problem. He told me the fan was not working since there was no air coming out of the vents He told me that Samsungs and GEs were notorius for their poor quality. He proceeded to tell me the appliance only had one fan which was inside the freezer (which was full and working perfectly), but the problem was probably the mother board which are not made anymore, because they would be so expensive it would make more sense to buy a new refrigerator. He took out no tools or meters, he diagnosed absolutely nothing. He then asked for a check for $65.00. I asked if he could put it towards some part or do something. He said there's nothing he could do. I paid Mr. [redacted]. After he left, I unplugged it and took the inside back of the refrigerator apart. There was a second fan in there which Mr. [redacted] said didn't exist. It was covered in ice. I used a hair dryer to loosen the ice and removed it all with a putty knife. I put the parts back on and plugged it back in. It worked perfectly.The next day my wife called Mr. [redacted]. She told him that the motherboard was not blown, that there was a second fan which he should have known was there before he even came out. If he thought it was unfixable, he could have told us before he came out, since he had the make and model. She told him that we had removed the ice and the refrigerator worked fine. His response was "Well good for you. Just wait three days and it will be broken again". It has been over 2 weeks and it is running just fine. Mr. [redacted] was rude and unprofessional. He showed no interest in finding out the problem, much less fix it. It appears he was uninformed and guessed at the problem, but guessed wrong. He didn't attempt to do any work, but he was happy to take the check. He came out on 11/14/2013 and the check cleared the next day, 11/15/2013.Desired SettlementI want a refund for the $65.00 I paid him for service.
