Review: [redacted] suggested I file a complaint with the Revdex.com regarding a costly sofa that I purchased for $2,350.00 from the [redacted] Duralee Fabrics LTD showroom at the end of May 2015. Duralee is a NY Company). This sofa was delivered to my home in early June 2015. It was sold as a "final sale". The sales person and showroom manager represented this sofa to be one of their top line sofas that was just being discontinued. It had been used as a sample which people ordered off of in their showroom for a few years.

The sofa was delivered to my home in June and placed in a formal living room which was used sparingly-once every few weeks by 1 person. When company came to visit 3 months after having purchased the sofa, we used the living room and sofa off and on throughout the day. We noticed an odd noise that intermittently occurred when we sat on or got up from the sofa. I called the Duralee sales person to let him known about the problem and to ask for his help. He suggested my calling a repair company that Duralee uses for their showroom furniture repairs. I followed his advice and contacted his person. I also called another company thinking it would be better to have assessments and quotes from two companies. Neither company knew what was causing the noise. They both were in agreement that in order to determine the cause of the sofa seat "noise" coming from inside the sofa, they would have to open up the sofa to inspect the interior. The gentleman from the 2nd company that came out last week commented that one back cushion was void of cushion filling and additional fill needed to be added to fill the void so that it would stand up properly. I haven’t bothered to call Duralee regarding this new “cushion fill” issue since they have shown no interest in helping resolve the major seat noise problem.

I spoke with several people from Duralee in addition to the sales person and the showroom manager about the seat noise problem. I also tried to contact the head of Duralee’s furniture manufacturing division on 2 occasions, but my calls were never returned. I was essentially told that any repairs to the sofa were my responsibility not Duralee's .

Had I known about any defects, I would have not purchased the sofa. Nothing pertaining to a seat noise defect was disclosed to me by the sales person prior to my purchasing the sofa. It's possible he did not know about this defect. To repair the sofa would incur a cost of a minimum of $600++ dollars. This $2350 sofa would then cost well over $3000 which would be way out of my budget. I spent a lot of my hard earned money to buy this sofa. I have no interest in spending more of my hard earned money to repair this new "defective" sofa. Also, a company other than the original sofa manufacturer repairing the sofa could cause a change to the integrity of the sofa. I would then be concerned that this could possibly be a reoccurring problem or perhaps other manufacturing problems would occur.

This whole situation has caused me a lot of aggravation. It's been so disappointing that Duralee Fabrics LTD has not shown any interest in resolving the problem which seems to be a manufacturing issue. This has been handled in an unprofessional and unacceptable manner. I no longer have any trust in the quality of Duralee and would never purchase any Duralee product again.

I would like to return the sofa for a complete refund of $2350 to my [redacted] card including the return delivery fee if any.Desired Settlement: I would like to return the sofa for a full refund of $2350 to my [redacted] card in addition to Duralee paying the return delivery fee, if any.
