State of Emergency weather conditions, yet DPAC refuses to refund cost of tickets or offer any sort of concession to customers who cannot travel.A "state of emergency" has been declared today because of the snowy conditions yet DPAC refuses to offer any refund or concession to customers who purchased tickets for the Feb 12th showing of the musical "Book of Mormon." Ticket costs are fairly expensive (my wife paid $130+ dollars for our pair of tickets, which was paid over the phone and were going to be picked up at the box-office -- wife's name is [redacted].) The bottom line is that despite the dangerous weather conditions, DPAC refuses to budge, forcing customers to take a risk in return for getting the item they rightfully paid for; it is utterly irresponsible. Desired SettlementWe would like to have our tickets refunded, or would accept a "credit" towards another show/event at DPAC. We are not asking for anything beyond what we paid for.Business Response The guest had requested a refund for tickets purchased on his wife's account for Book of Mormon. The refund was processed on 2/21/14, his wife was notified that the refund had taken place, and she was satisfied with the response from DPAC.

Unable to attend a show due to weather. DPAC has available tickets for a lottery but will not honor their policy and let season holders switch dates. We have been season ticket holders and faithful patrons for three years and we have never had an issue with customer service. The state of North Carolina is currently in a state of emergency due to inclement weather. DPAC has said that their show will go on tonight (February 12, 2014) regardless of the weather. When I asked if we could switch our tickets to another night, I was originally told: "Hi [redacted]! All of this week's shows are going on as scheduled, but feel free to shoot an e-mail to [email protected] for more information. For future reference, here is our policy for weather: http://www.dpacnc.com/events/weather_policy" I went on to contact customer service. Later, they sent this: "Sorry that we are not able to do more. Since all performances are sold-out, we are not able to accommodate any switches for Book of Mormon." However, DPAC still has an allotment of daily "lottery" tickets available. In order to qualify to get these tickets, attendees must show up at the box office two hours before the show and wait. Then they may, or may not, be awarded the tickets. According to a post I saw on Facebook, they told another season ticket holder that she could still try for the lottery and get tickets at $25 a piece on top of the money she is already losing. I feel like if they have these extra tickets, they should be going towards honoring their commitment with their season ticket holders. It isn't "Sold Out" if there are lottery tickets available. Desired SettlementAssuming they aren't going to let me switch show dates, I would like a refund of my money for tonight's show.Business Response The guest requested that a refund be made for her unused Book of Mormon tickets. The refund was processed on 2/19/14. The guest was contacted by telephone on 3/3/14 and confirmed that the resolution was satisfactory.

Handling of State of Emergency for the performance on Feb 12. Residents were told not to drive and unable to attend. Requesting a refund for our Wednesday Evening Feb 12 tickets to the Book of Mormon. As the state was in an ordered State of Emergency and patrons were unable to attend, this performance should have been rescheduled or refund offered.Desired SettlementRefund for our tickets...total of $64.00, [redacted]Business Response The guest requested a refund be made to their credit card for unused Book of Mormon tickets, and the refund was processed on 2/21/14. The guest was contacted by phone on 3/3/14 and was satisfied with the resolution of the issue.

Requiring people to attend show during weather emergency I am a season ticket holder for the 2013-2014 DPAC Broadway series. As part of my package, I had tickets to the Book of Mormon on Feb. 12, 2014. This show is the reason I purchased season tickets for the season. On Monday Feb. 10 I contacted DPAC and expressed my anxiety about the upcoming winter storm that was expected to hit the area on Feb. 12. I was told that the show would go on no matter what, even if there was no one in the auditorium to watch. I told them that this seemed unfair and basically was told it was not there problem. I asked if I could exchange my tickets for another night and was told it would be a $140 upgrade fee. I actually was given worse seats and it was still a weekday night, the following Thursday night, Feb. 20. I found this to be an unfair practice because I was either going to have to give up my tickets even though the state was under a state of emergency and the roads were in gridlock or pay $140 for tickets that were worse than what I already had. I ended up paying the $140 because I really wanted to see the show. However, I believe DPAC took advantage of its patrons by price gouging the tickets and unwilling allowing refunds to a show it was impossible to get to. I don't understand why I should have been charged extra for something I had already purchased from them. This is the same as taking a pair of jeans back to the store with a receipt and them telling you that you have to pay extra for a pair of jeans that is worse than the ones you are bring back. I feel DPAC has taken advantage of the situation of the storm and have treated ticket holders unfairly.Desired SettlementI do not think I have should have been charged $140 extra for seats on another day that were not as good as the ones I had due to my inability to get to the show because of a major winter storm in which our governor instructed us to stay off the roads.Business Response DPAC's General Manager contacted the guest regarding his issue with Book of Mormon tickets. The guest responded to our GM's explanation regarding ticket prices and also accepted the GM's offer of complimentary tickets to another DPAC performance.
