We spoke to Eric of Party Starters DJ Service in February about our wedding on August 27th 2016, at the time we had interviewed a lot of djs but Eric seemed to say all the right things and we decided to book with himPer his policy we needed to give him a 50% down payment of $and pay the rest on the day of the wedding, which we sent out to him right awayAfter signing a contract over the internet, as my fiancé and I live in New Hampshire, I found multiple negative reviews about Eric and began to get worriedWe set up to meet with him in New York on April 10th where I had planned to ask him about these reviewsWhen the day came we waited for an hour and a half for him to show upHe “mixed up” our meeting location and conveniently “forgot” both his work and personal cell phones in his gym lockerWhen he finally showed up to our meeting I asked him about the negative reviews and people saying he ripped them off, which he explained away by saying it was an employee using his business’ name and ripping people off and that he had legal documents to prove itWe decided, OK, we’ll give you a chance to prove otherwise but it’s not off to a good startHe promised up and down to make our day perfect and that we had nothing to worry about, gave us a website with a packet to fill out and sent us on our wayHe told us once we had our packet filled out to contact him and set up another meeting, which had to be on a week day, in New York and both of us had to be presentI told him that was not realistic for us as we live miles away and he said we could figure something outFinally in June we had finished our packet, chosen our songs and I began trying to contact Eric since I had to go to New York the weekend of July 8th for my bridal shower For three weeks I tried to contact him (mind you we hadn’t heard a single word from him since April) I called and texted his work and personal cell phones, sent him a message and meeting request on his online planning website, and emailed himThe only response I got was to my email, an automatic reply saying he was on vacation and would answer emails when he returnedAt this point in time I was completely stressed out and afraid our wedding day would come and Eric would not show upI called my parents to help me and they tried to contact Eric as wellAfter leaving multiple messages that we needed to talk to him and figure something out he sent me a text saying he has been on vacation and very sick but would contact me when he was feeling betterMind you, he had been actively posting updates and pictures on his business’ Facebook pageSo he was too sick to talk to his client but not too sick to FacebookMy father got him on the phone on July 8th and told him we no longer need his services and would like our money backEric tried to convince my dad to give him another chance and even told my dad that I had come and seen him dj at another weddingBeing as I live in another state and only traveled to New York the two weekends previously stated and was with my family the whole time that was obviously a lieHe then told my dad he didn’t have the money to refund us as he didn’t escrow our deposit (as required of him) but could get it to us by July 22ndAfter getting off the phone with my dad Eric sent me a text message urging me that he would be at the wedding and everything would be perfect, to just give him a chanceOn Saturday July 9th we sent him a letter stating we did not need his services and would anticipate our refund by July 22nd which he signed and sent back to usOn the 22nd my dad contacted him again after not receiving the refund yet to which Eric replied he would have it on Monday July 25thMy dad has still not received a refund and Eric will no longer answer his callsMy only advice when dealing with this man is not toHe had added unnecessary stress to my wedding planning and is not a man of his wordPlease do not do business with Eric Schneible of Party Starters DJ service!!!
