First of all I would like to apologize for your experience here at smog tech prosWe take customer satisfaction very seriouslyAfter reading your complaint and looking over the paperwork, we have come to the conclusion that service was requested when you came in, we performed the service according to laws and regulations governing CA smog stations and unfortunately we cannot issue a refund because the another station decided to issue the Certificate of Compliance for your vehicleBAR has setup Referee facilities to mediate exactly these type of issues between smog stations and the public, had a Cert of Compliance been issued by the Referee we would have gladly refunded your purchaseAlso we are a Test Only facility so it does not do as any good to fail any vehicle that would normally pass as we do not profit from repairs, we also provide a Free Retest on every smog to ensure transparency and trust [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:first off, when I take my car in for a smog, I wouldnt think to discuss an unrelated issue with the tech I am not asking to have it in better condition when I arrived just the same condition I dont need the window completely fixed I need it back on track and rolled up so I can secure my vehicle ASAP

Hi ***,My name is *** *** and I am the general manager for Smog Tech Pros. I received your complaint and I am sorry you had to drive away in rain with window down; I talked with ***, regarding this matter and he said he did roll the window down as we do for all vehicles during
testing so we don't inadvertently lock the keys in the car. *** also said you had told him to that you've had issues with the window before and when its rolled down all the way it usually does not go back up and you have to remove the door panel to put the window on track. Had we been aware of this condition we would not have rolled the window all the way down.You have asked us to fix the window, by this do you mean to put it back on track or fix it completely so it you can operate the window normally? Please advise

This letter is in response to complaint ID [redacted] to rebuttal the message written from Smog Tech Pros,I disagree that Smog Tech Pros takes customer satisfaction seriously. I have disagreements with their professionalism and standard of work.They state they cannot issue a refund because another station issued the Certificate of Compliance for my vehicle. This occurred only after their technician failed my vehicle the first time; and I returned for a second time and they failed it again. I told them I knew my car was not smoking; and I would take it to another smog station for another evaluation. Without altering anything on the vehicle I was forced to go to a dependable and reliable station where my vehicle passed. I now strongly believe their standard of work was poor and I was not given a proper inspection; which resulted in them failing the vehicle.I was able to observe the Smog Tech Pros service technician through a window while he inspected my vehicle. In hindsight I believe he did not perform the testing correctly. I did not see him ever place a hose in the tail pipe to test the smoke capacity, which others have told me is part of the testing. I now wonder if Smog Tech Pro trains their staff properly.I am asking for a refund for substandard testing. My concern is that other elderly customers are also receiving the same questionable customer service but not speaking up.If mediation is preferred over small claims court, please inform me how to proceed with mediation.
