Disrespectful
This place is EXTREMELY RUDE and disrespectful! Avoid AT ALL COSTS! Terrible service, nothing but headaches.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  We have received the check and are 100% satisfied.  Thank you for your investigation into this matter.

Regards,

Whenever a customer has a vehicle towed to a repair facility, the facility pays the tow charges including all impound fees and bills that to the insurance company. When Mr. [redacted] requested his vehicle be towed to the repair facility, our personnel followed normal operating procedures and attempted...

to collect from the facility. For unknown reasons to us, the facility rejected acceptance of the vehicle and payment of the tow bill. Perhaps a claim had not been initiated with them or the customer had not yet contacted them. As stated, we do not know the reasons. Even though our company followed not just our procedures but industry standards, and we have a signed request by Mr. [redacted] to tow the vehicle to the repair facility, we will refund Mr. [redacted] $230 as a goodwill gesture. This was not an "extra charge" or a "scam" as Mr. [redacted] incorrectly states in his complaint. Our company properly performed a service but was caught in the middle of miscommunication between the repair facility and the owner.

120+ degrees, this guy made us ride in the cab of our semi, with no power, while being towed 115 miles to Phoenix, AZ from Quartzite, AZ. We were heat exhausted and so were our 2 little dogs by the time we got to Freightliner.

Avoid this place if at all possible.

The service is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!! If you have a choice AT ALL, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! The "manager," Kevin, was so disrespectful and rude that I'm appalled that he is even allowed to handle customers at all.

I've been to the impound lot twice now to deal with my vehicle, and it's been a 2-week-long headache. The first time was irritating and Kevin was short/rude with me, but nothing too crazy or unreasonable... just a mean guy taking his bad day out on me. No big deal. Today, however, I went to retrieve the items that had been locked in the office when I originally came, and I asked if the property given to me was all that was collected from my car. Kevin was short and responded, "yes," and I informed him that I had been told that there were a couple of items missing from the property given to me. Kevin responded by snapping at me about how "that's all there is," so deal with it basically. Unfortunately, the missing items are extremely important and I cannot just "forget" about them. So, I pursued the issue and asked how to look into the matter, because I couldn't just "forget" about it, unfortunately. He gave me a form to file for the "missing property." As I handed back the form, he informed me that he would be checking the police records against my statements and would be filing charges against me if the property wasn't mentioned in them for falsifying records. On top of his rude attitude, this completely threw me for a loop. So, because I was told that these very important items were in the car and should still be there, I'M in the wrong because they're not there???! How does that make sense??! I'm simply just trying to get my stuff back, and he's talking about filing legal charges against me for it. What ever happened to customer service and, I don't know, maybe a, "Ok, ma'am, I'm not sure why you're property isn't here, but here are the possibilities or things that you can do to fix it...." It's THAT simple!! I wasn't accusing or blaming ANYONE, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of these items that somehow just disappearing into thin air! I'm sorry for not being well versed in this process, but I in NO way made remarks even remotely accusatory towards DV Towing, so for the "manager" to treat me with SUCH a bad attitude, just blew my mind.

So, possibly pending criminal charges for trying to find a COMPANY iPhone and another item that I was TOLD were in the vehicle (did I mention that a paycheck is being withheld until this phone is returned?), I'll ask again.... How is this guy allowed to handle customers??!? I'm certain that if people like me, who were forced to use DV Towing through the government, there is NO way they would still be a successful business with the way they treat their customers. Absolutely inexcusable!

These people are a scam. I read the reviews before I went there but to see how rude & disrespectful they are to the customers that come there to get their belongings out of their car. I knew you could not take pictures because I have been in the towing business for years. My issues is that the lack of decent customer service & they made my daughter pay them to keep the car. Huh? They know they are going to make their money back for the towing fees by selling the parts. I have only seen this practice with towing companies that scam their customer & take advantage of their customer because most customers do not know the rules about police impounds & how things should be handled correctly. So in my opinion, yes this dead beat company is a scam. It is sad that the police have a contract with these shady people. Its companies like these that give good respectable towing companies a bad name. I hope to never have to deal with this company again.

Our records indicate that Mr. [redacted] contacted us about his vehicle on Friday, August 1, 2014. He did come to our facility on Saturday. August 2, 2014. Mr. [redacted]'s claims about four cars and our being understaffed is inaccurate. The previous night a motorhome was towed into our facility and was...

placed incorrectly in our yard blocking Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle. The light duty trucks and forklifts onsite were unable to move the motorhome. The heavy wreckers were tied up at the moment.

The situation was caused by an error late the previous night of placement of the motorhome. It was not due to inadequate equipment of staff.

The charges paid by Mr. [redacted] only included storage through Saturday. No extra charges were incurred or collected for the delay in claiming his vehicle. Statements he made to our staff dispute his claim of paying $60 for another tow company.

Our staff has been reminded of proper vehicle placement in the yard in an effort to prevent this situation.

Sincerely, [redacted]

Lets see whose character needs reviewing. My husband is allergic to cats, so we dont own one. Our dogs are a min-pin and a chihuahua mix, both under 5lbs each. Sorry no Saint Bernard in the mix, anywhere. Both [redacted] and the motel in Quartzite can verify.

I dont cuss, so during our very very brief conversation I didnt cuss.

Our APU in our truck was not working, [redacted] in Phoenix can verify, which your driver never bothered to ask about. He never said one of us could sit on the others lap,

We had over 115 miles to go and it is the law all passengers are required to wear seat belts. Rather than break the law or have to put up with the drivers rudeness, we rode in the cab of our truck, which your company assured us was not against the law. This comment by your company gives a glimpse of your companies character by asking drivers who are broke down to break the seat belt law.

When I originally called I made sure to say there were 2 drivers and 2 pets. I was told it would be fine, the driver would have enough room for all of us. When I saw his truck, I immediately called your office and the woman said, oh I didnt know he had the smaller truck, sorry about that.

My husband never shook your drivers hand as the driver was not paid by us.

If I could give them negative stars I would! They are the worst towing company ever! Scandalous!! Rude!!! Claiming they did not get paperwork to release our vehicle when we have proof they did! Our son is in the Marine Corps in Iraq. My husband was driving his truck and was hit by a moving truck. Apparently they are contracted by the government (figures) and that is who the DPS calls when there is an accident. They kept our vehicle for almost 2 weeks just to collect the daily rate! Shame on you DV Towing!! I will be contacting the media on this one!

My wife was involved in a serious traffic accident and the vehicle was towed by DV Towing to their yard at the behest of Phoenix PD. I spoke with the staff by phone on two separate occasions before we arrived to the tow yard and found them to be professional and informative in each instance, even if they were a bit terse. The vehicle is registered in my wife's name and since she was injured in the accident and unable to walk to their office window, they sent an employee to our parked car to verify her identity and the vehicle registration. While waiting for a golf cart to take me to the vehicle in the yard, I had a nice conversation with Kevin who was very pleasant and empathetic towards our plight concerning the accident. I suspect this is a tough business to be in - I can't imagine any circumstances in which someone would be pleased their vehicle is in a tow yard, but I found my pleasant attitude matched in kind. In fact, Kevin went out of his way to provide us with professional recommendations for various services.

I was promised my vehicle would be retowed that same day DV took it in. After all the release paperwork was submitted, it took them over 24 hours to tow the car to the collision center. I called more than once to stress the urgency of my situation but they didn't care.

I was involved in an accident, in which I was T-boned. Being 6 and 1/2 months pregnant, I actually opted to go to the hospital and check on my unborn child instead of clean out my TOTALLED vehicle. When I arrived the next day to retrieve my belongings, I was told that I could not have my father come back with me and help me carry my things. I was only allowed one trip back and could not take pictures of the vehicle. I also arrived while the person who hit me was looking at my vehicle. He happily took him back to see my car after his "one allowed trip" to his vehicle, but had a hard time allowing me to pack my belongings and then have my father take a trip to load it. While I was going back with the employee to my vehicle, he had the audacity to ask , "So if you're 6 and a half months pregnant, why is your husband or boyfriend not here lifting your belongings for you." After being taken back by his comment and simply notifying him that it was none of his concern, he proceeded to tell me, "Just go get your belongings." First of all, how rude and second, how is it possible for them to treat me like this after I could have potentially lost my child in an accident caused by the son of the man they had no problem allowing a second trip back (mind you it was to take a look at MY car). If you ask me, this is no way to treat ANYONE, especially not the victim.

Review: I was in an accident on monday the 28th of July. The state had their contracted company DV TOWING remove my vehicle from the street. on Saturday the 2nd of August, I called the wrecking yard and was told I could pick up my vehicle. I called another tow truck to come and retrieve my car from the wrecking yard. I was later told by the company that my car has been blocked in by four other cars and the facility didn't have their own truck to move them. I was also told they didn't have enough employees either. They told me to come back monday.

This is not my company, nor am I the hiring manager. It is not my job to ensure this company operates correctly. They are contracted through the state, and I believe they should uphold to state standards and be reliable for their business.Desired Settlement: I would like either a refund of my money paid, or a refund for the towing agency that had to come out for no reason (which I had to pay $60.00 in gas and milage.) I believe it is the fault of the company that I was unable to accomplish a simple task since they don't know how to manage their facility properly.

My car was totaled and the police had it towed there. The care was registered in my husands name so to be able to retreive my property I had to have him fax a notarized lettter with all the info they requested with a pic of his license they ssaid the pic was too dark. So he sent it to my phone they still would not except. I asked if they could just please prvide me with my work sticker, which is like an oil change sticker, to be able to get into my work garage. They said no and I said well how ami I to get into work. they said that's your problem they were ver rude. the next day they said they would except the pic from my phone if printed off. So I go there they look at it and then tell me that it was towed out of there to [redacted]. So I then go to [redacted] and they told me it was not there yet and was to be towed there on 7/30/2014. I would not recommend this place to anyone They provided very unprofessional customer service and if they decide they don't like you you will never get your property. You can understand I was getting upset over the phone and this [redacted] tells me I have hang up on this phone. If I spoke to customers like that I would be fired. Oh and the accident was not my fault a lady passed out in her car and slammed into me!!!

Review: My partner's car was at the towing lot. When he when to pay the fee to get it out and the fee for them to tow it, they told him that the charge the Dealer. The was bazzar because he owed the impound fee still. They gaurenteed him that the dealer would pay and add it on. He told them he had the cash to pay the impound fee now, and they said no, it would be paid by the dealer. So he agreed and let them take the car to the dealer. The dealer rejected it becasue of the impound fee. So they (DV Towing) took it back. NOW they are charging him with an extra $230 for returning the car!! This is rediculas and scams like this need to be delt with.Desired Settlement: We would like the the extra towing fee reembursed.

Regards,

Staff is rude! I called to get information after a horrific accident this company had no compassion for the situation. The second time I called. I was talking to a lady she cut me of by saying "HOLD ON" then I got a man on the phone who said "this is [redacted]" While explaining my situation he repeatedly started talking to someone in the back ground. They were only concerned about tow fees and how much money they can make. They did not care to take the time to explain things to me. The story changed on what I had to do to take care of the situation between the two different conversations. All I wanted was information and some understanding. I wasn't disputing the fees they wanted to charge I just didn't want to continue having fees tacked on. I wanted to get the situation resolved as fast as possible. If the lady answering the phone and [redacted] were not so rude and on some power trip the experience would have been better. They just needed to have some customer service skills some compassion and understanding for people. They make a bad situation worse.

This company will only tow to their own lot they will not tow to a repair facility. They do not accept credit cards over the phone. So they do everything possible to not release the vehicle and charge storage fee's.

The employee [redacted] who claimed to be the person in charge refused to give his last name. He was rude, refused to help release a vehicle so they could keep ripping off an 80 year old client who simply wanted her car back. This company should be embaressed to be in a business that is basically a ripoff and does not care about people.

TERRIBLE! Very rude, uninformative, rushing me off the phone. I told them that "my car was missing after being back home in NY for 2 months for family emergency, called the Glendale PD who told me it was towed by them (DV) and to call to get more information. I'm very uncertain as to how I resolve this because I've never had to go through getting my car towed before." They responded with "okay you owe $1576.50" after asking what to do once I have the money together & informing them (which they prob already knew) that I had an ignition interlock installed and if they tamper with the device at all, it will be immediately reported to the MVD causing me to have the interlock for 6 months longer. So if they could please keep that in mind. All he said was "anything else I can help you with?" I just said no and hung up. Also, when I asked why car was towed he said "abandonment". By who I asked -"Phoenix PD"- but I park there all the time & is there a reason why I wasn't informed about this?? Not by mail or anything! I mean I understand my car can be towed without my knowledge at that moment, but not telling me where or why or what to do? Making me play the guessing game? You clearly have my address that is linked to my license which is linked to my registration. -"anything else I can help you with?"-
This guy was very rude and not helpful at all especially when I've just come home to my car missing.
