*** *** [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the responseIf the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered]I do not accept the reasons they gave As I said before when I look on line for the standard, it says 1/4" glass is mm and what they gave me was not that thick What is their answer to that There is also a flaw in their reply in that it was not annealed but tempered glass I am still waiting for a refund and will certainly not reccomend them or go to them again Thie is shoddy business practice I have been happy with Dwight's before but they must have changed owner, policies, etc I paid $and got nothing.*** ***
Modern glass is produced using the float process where molten glass is floated onto molten tin where it cools into sheets of varying thicknesses depending on thickness being producedThe glass sheets we purchase, fabricate and re-sell as 1/4" are nominally 7/32" thickThe glass
Ms. *** is comparing it to is more than likely 1/4" plate glass which was produced by the old plate process which was discontinued by manufacturers in approximately 1960, it was actually 1/4" thick but is no longer availableThe thicker glass we carry is 3/8" thick which is nominally 11/32" and 1/2" thick which is nominally 15/32"Ms*** ordered a 1/4" thick piece of annealed glass @ 42" diameter which is EXACTLY what we provided to her and all the other satisfied customers that order 1/4" thick glass

I am rejecting this response because: I bought the first piece of glass from Dwight's on Lomas in early 80's If they have a no refund policy, they should inform customers of this especially when ordering on line or on the phone By the way I am not Ms***, I am Mrs*** I also am not misinformed about the history of glass It is impossible for someone to judge what someone else knows when they have not met them! An apology will not do the trick

Ms *** and is welcome to pick up her 1/4" thick diameter at our shopWe have not changed ownersMy father Dwight and I started the glass business in and although he is retired, I manage the business with my wife and sonShe is obviously misinformed concerning the history of glass manufacturing but we apologize for her unhappiness
