Revdex.com spoke [redacted] from the company and stated that the homeowner thought it was the deck boards that had an issues when it was the steps.. The company came out and showed the consumer where someone had dropped something and that caused the issue.  Company says that particular part is not under...

warranty.  Company is coming up with a price for repair and if consumer agrees with price, company will come out to repair it.

Review: I paid Decks With Style $25,000 to install a deck on the back of my house. The materials used are under warranty. The material on one of the steps has come apart and must be repaired. I took a photo of the damaged step and emailed it to [redacted]. After not getting a reply, I called Decks With Style twice and left a voice message both times that I need the step repaired under warranty. Decks With Style has refused to contact me after one email message and two voice messages.Desired Settlement: I want the step repaired.

Simple facts of this review. We did call the homeowner back. Apparently not quick enough . The initial complaint was about defective steps. Again we did call the homeowner back and met him to review the issue. The surface of the steps had 3 gashes on 3 seperate steps spaced apart on the way down towards the bottom of a multiple step/stair system. The steps are made composite decking (not wood). This material is hard to damage. The damage would have been noticed during construction or on the final walk-thru with the homeowners . Or in the months after construction was completed previous to the complaint . It was so plainly obvious that the homeowners,or their friends/family, ect. or anyone but DWS had dropped something heavy down the steps and damaged them. Homeowner immediately agreed with our assessment. (The best analogy we can offer is us buying a new truck.Taking delivery, using it for several months, denting it up, and then giving the car dealer a bad review for not taking responsibility and fixing it for free). The lights were an issue and we addressed the issue. Bulbs will burn out frequently and these low voltage light systems mandated in the building codes have been problematic for all involved . The area around the installed deck screws of a few deck steps have some cracking/splitting just as the homeowner stated. These are tiny and at the very end of some steps, not uncommon or noticeable unless you really try hard to find something. They also represent a few screws out of a thousand or so installed. We addressed these also. This review has been around so long it's time to get rid of. We are a great company who cares and continues to be successful because of our customer relationships and the quality of our work . I gave a price to replace the damaged steps and have not heard back . If this homeowner calls tomorrow we will still be out to see and fix anything that is our doing. Its as simple as that
