Review: We contacted this Dyer Electric for a Free Estimate on some minor electrical work that needed to be completed at our property. The office personal was very pushy and inconsiderate. Therefore we requested to speak directly to the owner. [redacted] called us claiming to be the owner and we spoke to him multiple times over a few weeks time to set up this FREE ESTIMATE.

We told Vic that we needed a 30-45 minute call prior to the technician showing up at our property because we work in the field and are out on appointments all day. He agreed and we set up this appointment for 5/28/14 morning and [redacted] agreed that a 30-45 minute call would take place.

HE ALSO AGREED TO THE "FREE ESTIMATE" ON LIGHTS BEING INSTALLED OUTSIDE OUR PROPERTY.

The tech failed to call 30-45 minutes out and started ringing our doorbell aggressively. My wife called me to see what was going on! I told her to get his number and I would call him. I called him and told him he was supposed to call 30-45 minutes out? His response was he was in a hurry and decided to just show up? I told him I'd call my wife to give him a "light fixture" that needed to be installed in our outside doorway. He told me he'd install it quickly while I was on the way to meet with him.

I made it home; he told me it took 5 minutes to install the light. I walked him inside to install the 3 light switch timers. He kept over talking me and claiming that he had over 30 years in the electricity business. After 3-5 minutes of this garble I told him thanks for the information, however, I just need the light timers installed and the timers set up. He installed all 3 in 7-10 minutes. Ok, that's top time 15-30 minutes.

Now it was time for the FREE ESTIMATE.

We walked around for an additional 30-45 minutes and I explained to him what the electrical add-ons we were thinking about doing. He told me he would send the FREE ESTIMATE through the owner [redacted].

He gave me the bill, I explained to him that I was supposed to be getting a FREE ESTIMATE and that this was over billing!

I wrote the check for $254.50 to avoid any further problems because this guy was shady. Later that night we reviewed the billing and immediately saw that he charged $215.00 for labor for 15-30 minutes work and included the FREE ESTIMATE time which was a "low budget scam!"

The next morning I called to speak to [redacted] to get a refund. No response. I told the office person I would contact the [redacted] Revdex.com and share this rip-off on every online review website unless I received a refund. She was snotty and took the message.

Meanwhile, the technician is a liar and was incapable of this small electrical service and our outside lights go on and off all times of the night, which is a safety, issue at this point! Example: Recently a alarm was going off on a car right in front of our property and the front outside lights were not working which led us to call [redacted] because the lights were not working!

Low and behold there was no FREE ESTIMATE and the technician scammed me into paying for the time we spent walking around for the FREE ESTIMATE?

We spoke to [redacted] multiple times and agreed that we should get a refund. [redacted] won't take our calls and is avoiding us and most importantly, "he has not resolved the problem or processed the refund."

We have given this company 2 months (as of July 28, 2014 this Monday) to resolve this rip-off scam and to process our refund. We do not have the time to keep calling this guy over and over again while he's bucking us.

Therefore we decided to keep our word and to share our horrible experience with Dyer Electric Company with the online [redacted] and the rest of the World so others can be aware of the false promises, slick scam technicians, deceptive practices and rip-off scams.Desired Settlement: WE ARE REQUESTING A "FULL $254.50 REFUND" ALSO, WE READ OVER THE GUIDELINES TO BE A ACCREDITED BUSINESS WITH THE [redacted] Revdex.com AND BELIEVE THIS IS A "MATERIAL BREACH" THE PRACTICES OF COMPANY'S ACCREDITED WITH THE [redacted] Revdex.com.

This company rocks! I needed 2 new lines and 3 outlets installed in my garage, and they promptly came out and provided an estimate, complete with materials and labor breakdown. It was fair and reasonable! I had just received an estimate from a franchised company ([redacted]) that was almost 3 1/2 times higher -- with an unbelievable labor cost of $250/hr! Dyer Electric is locally owned, been in business a very long time, and provided very fast professional service. I could not be more pleased with the job they did. Definitely recommend these guys!
