Review: [redacted] came to my estate sale in Virginia and offered to sell ite** for me, a senior relocating under duress, arranged to pick up 3 ite** of furniture in May of this year and place them for sale online. His contract was vague and communication was non-existent. Finally I was able to ascertain that one item had been sold, but then could not reach anyone. I was forced to go to the [redacted] company, who held the estate sale, and ask for their help to reach him, even though they are not affiliated with Dynacorp. I have documented my many emails and just today, six months later received a check. One of the ite** sold was not mine and the biggest atrocity was a granite topped, solid wood table 38" X 38"X 16" that he sold for $8.00. He operates with no cash outlay, sells online with hardly any overhead and takes a 35% commission. That, in itself, is not my complaint. I think he takes advantage, doesn't communicate and pays extremely late. Giving away my table for two [redacted] lattes is criminal and he should be investigated for his unethical practices.Desired Settlement: I would like to know how an item, obviously worth much more, could be sold for so little. I would like to know to whom it as sold and also the dates of the sale. I would like to know where my copper container is and what it was actually sold for. I would also like reimbursement for any differences and I would like this information posted on the Revdex.com website. Unfortunately, people like [redacted] can take advantage of a senior in a difficult situation and profit from sleazy business practices.

Response:

Dear [redacted],It is correct that **. [redacted] hired our services to auction three items she could not sell at heron site tag sale.I have arranged pick up of such items by crew members of my organization, we usually charge $85 dollars an hour (for a minimum of 2 hours) to remove goods for auction which I did not collect from her due to being highly referred by a good business friend from the company conducting the onsite sale at her property.Nonetheless, she signed a contract (attached) where she had the opportunity to place her reserves on each item and she clearly omitted each box, so forth all items sold to the highest bidder.Unfortunately we cannot predict the outcome of an auction, however, we do the proper marketing to bring traffic to each sale, but at the end bidders decide how high the want go on items.I a it) also attaching correspondence with [redacted], where I have asked how much she wanted in compensation for the missing copper bucket, since the one we sold apparently was not hers for which we did also pay her when we sent her reconciled check. We are hard for our name and reputation, and I believe [redacted] is mistaken us for a retail store, or perhaps suggesting that we kept the table. If it comes to contacting the successful bidder on such item, he is a Military US Government employee, I can provide you his contact information so you can get confirmation from him, kindly let me know.Should you need further explanation, please do not hesitate contacting me.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: There was no mention of a fee to pick up items. As a matter of fact, I had to get the man who came to sign and verify what he was taking. I also was not contacted for several months and had to enlist the help of [redacted] to get any response. There was also no mention of the possibility of a reserve which is customary - as I would have never agreed to sell it for such a ridiculous amount. I would have preferred to donate it to charity rather than sell it for $8.00. I feel some business practices are unethical and need to be curtailed. Irrespective of the fact that he has children and sold it to a military person, I should have been contacted and given an option of rejection before it was sold. The copper bucket that he "thought" was mine exemplifies his level of documentation and concern for the items he deals with, was sold for $6.00 another ridiculous amount. Please help me to keep him from doing this again to some vulnerable person.

Review: I purchased a purse from Dynacorp Auctions that was described in their advertisement as a genuine [redacted] purse. I then sold it on [redacted] as the real thing, not a bootleg/fake item because that's how it was represented to me. The person that bought it from my [redacted] ad then filed a complaint against me because, unbeknownst to me, I had sold her a fake item as real. I immediately apologized, refunded her money and asked her to ship it back to me. I then started corresponding with Dynacorp only to be met with denials, refusals and stonewalling. Finally after threatening to report them to any and all agencies that would be interested in the misrepresentation of the product, the sale across states lines, the sale of an illegal item, etc they agreed to refund my money. That was several weeks ago and I still have no refund. I am out of $90.00 considering the cost of the item. shipping fees associated with Dynacorp shipping the item to me, shipping fees associated with the [redacted] sale and the [redacted] listing fees and related [redacted] fees. The following are excerpts from emails sent to and received from Dynacorp. - 1. "I bought a purse from your auction site based on its' description. The description of the purse I purchased stated it was an authentic [redacted] item. I then sold it on [redacted] as such and was embarrassed and also lost money when the purchaser filed a complaint against me because the bag was fake and not genuine. That was fraud. What do I need to do to return the item and get a refund? " 2. "Good morning [redacted], Thank you for your email. Below is the last email that was sent to you on March 31st regarding the purse. We appreciate your patience in this matter. As it was explained in the previous email, this auction in which you purchased the purse was in October 2013. It has been over 5 months since it ended. We need to track down the seller and discuss this matter with the seller. If the auction were to have ended a couple weeks ago, it would be more simple than an auction that ended months ago. As we said before, we cannot guarantee anything at this point. We will let you know if we hear anything." 3. "Your reply puzzled me. "We cannot guarantee anything" and "We will let you know if we hear anything" are troubling responses. Can you please explain what difference it should make to me what your customer did or did not tell you? My deal was not with them. It was with Dynacorp. If your customer misrepresented the purse's authenticity, how does that affect me? If it was wrong for your customer to misrepresent the purse as authentic, isn't it also wrong for you to do the same? Please know that as far as I'm concerned, if you unknowingly or unwittingly sold a counterfeit item I understand that and I am not making a big to-do over it. I can but I really just want a refund. However to me once you've been informed of the problem and choose to not apologize and right the wrong, it gives rise to other questions. I paid for the purse, your auction fees, taxes, shipping costs to have it sent to me, [redacted] listing fees, shipping fees to [redacted], refunding money to my buyer and more. " I tried very hard to make it easy for Dynacorp to settle this amicably and they escalated it to the point it presently sits.Desired Settlement: A refund of $90.00 in the form of a check sent to the address I sent them in an email when they asked where the check should be sent. The $90.00 is the total amount I've lost by purchasing the purse from Dynacorp
