Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me right now, however it is strictly dependent on my appointment on May 4th, 2017. I may have used the wrong terminology but have no doubt the dentist knows exactly what I meantEach time I had a return appointment I was told something differentI thought long and hard before I put in a complaint, It was and still is not my intent to ruin this dentist's reputation. I feel that some of his responses are degrading meI may be old but I am not stupid! I have been in the medical field for over forty years and I am appalled at the way some patients are treated including myself in this case. I can only hope that the May 4th visit will resolve this issue
Regards,

We will attempt to speak to the patient to resolve this The word realignement, is not what was in her treatment plan , her paperwork will show the word reline, which was the planned step to finalize the immediate denture as long as it was acceptableAgain immediate dentures are made as a quick fix measure to get teeth in after having all of your teeth removed, the lab makes them and has to make an educated guess about how it will look and fit, because we are skipping fittings and try ins I agree that the immediate denture did not have the teeth and gums in an ideal proportionI am simply saying we did not plan to remedy this by realignement, that word was never used and does not exist in her paper work we originally planned to reline the immediate given the appearance was satisfactory, which obviously it is notI will offer to make her new dentures at reduced cost if she is amenable to thatI have never had a complaint in more than years on the Revdex.com which speaks to my commitment to my patientsI understand that my patients are my employers and I am in business to serve them

I am truly sorry that this has been her experience( I will avoid using her name out of respect for her privacy should this be posted publicly). This situation seems to be based on miscommunication. Our patient came to us with a need to have all of her teeth removed due to bone loss ,
severe mobility and shifting. We discussed the option making an "immediate denture"; or the option of extracting the teeth , allowing the gums to heal and going through the 3-appointment process of making a "traditional complete denture".The Immediate denture is an option that allows us to get a denture made quickly by skipping multiple steps in the process giving the patient the ability to have teeth while the gums are healing and remolding after the extraction and surgery process, the lab essentially takes a plaster model of the mouth before healing and guesses what it will look like after healing to make a denture. The traditional complete denture process has several appointments that allow us to verify the bite, alignment, shape, size, color and fit of the denture before it is finalizedThis option is only able to be done reliably after healing is completed following surgery, which requires weeks, this process often involves redoing steps in order to ensure that the denture looks and feels right before finishing. Our hope was that the immediate denture would look good enough to be able to serve as the final complete denture after healing which would allow us to only have to reline the inside of the immediate denture to match the changes to the bone and gums after healing. Because of the original condition that her teeth were in, the lab was not able to achieve this and our patient was told we could reline this denture and use it a final denture or ideally make a traditional complete denture now after healing as completedThe realignment she mentions is the reline, of the immediate denture, which does not involve moving the teeth, only relining the inside to match the changes post healing
