Settlement agreement was forwarded to the client on 8/17/2015.  Official Cashier’s check in the amount of $2,016.00 has been sent to the client via certified mail.

The check represents settlement for damages that occurred to the columns at the entrance to the client’s driveway in the amount of $1,066.00.

The additional $950.00 was paid as it would not be worth the time or effort to pursue. The majority of the client’s claim was the responsibility of Dyson Painting as the client was made aware of the accident that occurred on their property.

Dyson Painting was on schedule for their portion of the work to be completed until multiple contactors began showing up at the same time.  It is impossible to paint a property at the same time carpet is being installed, kitchen and bathroom counters being installed and electricians completing their work during the same timeframe.
In addition, the client asking for assistance in looking at additional issues and communicating back to her after the original agreement of work had been outlined did cause periodic delays as well.  (ie. On the Monday prior to the client’s arrival, a conversation was held with the client to make her aware of the progress on work being completed.  It was clearly communicated that 2 rooms would not be painted prior to their arrival which she was in agreement with.  The rest of the rooms were painted pending touchups including the color change for one of the ceilings and trim that she requested after the original color was applied.
The tile floor in question was not complete as there was a pending question regarding the edge pieces that needed to be clarified by the client prior to the grout being applied.

It is unfortunate that the working relationship ended in this manner however Dyson Painting has resolved the issue directly with the client.

Review: Contracted work was less than one quarter completed. Work that was done, including painting, drywall, and tiling, was done incorrectly and had to be torn out and redone by reputable contractors. In addition contractor damaged property with his truck. A certified letter was sent detailing expenses incurred as a result. Contractor has not responded.Desired Settlement: The lowest estimate to repair the brick column that contractor ran into with his truck is $1,066.00. The drywall repairs were done at a cost of $725.00, and the tile (removal only) was $225.00. We are asking the contractor, Dyson Painting to cover these damages which total $2,016.00.
