Review: E&C Moving Company provided poor service and treated me very unprofessionally. They moved me to a new apartment on 5/10/2014. There is a list of issues that I need to report:

1. They told they would accept payment part cash and part credit card. At the time of paying they told me: “we only accept cash today. What we told you yesterday doesn’t apply anymore, and today is a different day”. The crew followed me to an ATM where I had to withdraw cash

2. They showed up with only one dolly- which meant one of the crew members had to wait for the other one to return to go with the next load

3. They tried to over-charge me. They spent 10 hours to move my 1 bedroom apartment. The crew disappeared for an hour – from 12:30 to 1:30 – which can be validated by the building receptionist. They claimed they had a GPS malfunction. I asked them to charge me for 9 hours, instead of 10 and the crew became verbally aggressive, shouted at me, called me a liar and asked me to sign the final paper ASAP. I felt like the crew was close to cross a line where I had to report them to law enforcement. We reached a person on the phone from E&C who luckily was able to calm down the crew.

4. Night stand and coffee table were chipped. Spring mattress was dragged on the ground and had mud and grass on it.

5. A lamp was broken and thrown in the dumpster without my knowledge and authorization

6. My 48” LED flat screen TV was badly damaged and it cannot be used anymore (ready for trash)

7. Driver underestimated height of an arc in the new building and damaged building’s arc and top of track

8. I reported, in writing, all of the above issues to E&C Moving several times, and asked for insurance information and to be reimbursed for part of the damage. I have NEVER heard back from them, unfortunately.Desired Settlement: I would like for the company to contact me and provide next steps to reimbursement of the flat screen TV. I do not expect to be reimbursed for all the damages, but at least for the damaged and now unusable TV.

Review: I called this company to see what the charges were going to be to move 5 pieces of furniture, 1 cal king bed and several storage containers, up a flight of stairs (in my home) to a rented storage unit. I made this very clear to the person who answered the phone, who was not clear what her name was, she was slurring her words and seemed out of sorts or under the influence of some kind. She stated that for the items, furniture and min of 2 hours, it would be a total of 170.00 and to bring only cash. The movers were sloppy and unprofessional, they scratched up all the dresser, nightstands and second amour dragging it along the bottom of there van. My husband actually had to help them removing the items from our basement. When the time came for payment I was expecting the $170.00 but the driver told me $225.00 because we had stairs, I made it very clear that I retained the email stating we have stairs and what the price would be, she indicted that she received the email with the original price of $170.00; then she started to "bargain" with me until my husband got so sick of these unprofessional and rude folks that he gave them $190.00. I am OUTRAGED...They are unprofessional and misrepresenting what there product is, both movers COULD NOT move the items without my husbands help....Desired Settlement: I want my money back! I spent 190.00 on nothing, my husband and I moved our own items, then were told a higher price because of stairs when it was in the original quote. They have misrepresented there company and services since they could not handle the furniture between two men. So I want a refund for there misrepresentation and trying to get more cash out of me than quoted.

Review: On January 25,2014 I hired a moving company called E and C moving company to move my furniture from [redacted], Va to Washington, DC. There were two men that were hired at $45 an hour. The time that was discuss was at 9am. The movers were 20 minutes late.I moved a 1 bedroom basement apartment into a 1 bedroom apartment. Also the last thing they moved was my 40 inch flat screen tv out of the house onto their truck.The movers then stating they didn't have any more room on their truck for my tv to fit, so they told me I had to put in the back seat of my car. They move the tv from the moving truck to my vehicle. After the move and everything was in the house, I plugged my tv up and notice it had a crack in the screen. I didn't notice it until after 6pm and the movers left at 230pm. I then called the moving company to let them know my tv was broken from the move. I spoke to a lady who wouldn't give me her name, and she told me that she would have to call me back because she wanted to talk to the movers about it. She never called back. On January 26 I called at 9am about my complaint I made the following day. The lady the stating I have no proof to say her movers broke my tv and that I broke my tv myself. She also stated that her company do not have any insurance and they do not cover property damage when moving. I then ask her may I speak with the manager,she then stating that she is the manager but she wouldn't give me her name.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund from my move because overall I did not like the experience on the way they handle my furniture and the customer service I received. I would also want to be compensated for my broken tv as well.
