I regretfully admit that my fault in this matter, was forgetting to inform the customer during the initial drop-off about our “no guarantee” policy on shoe cleaning, due to the nature of the job matter (cleaning to our best ability, not restoring back to factory new conditions)I’ve realized that
this was my initial error in this misunderstood exchangeAs far as refunding the money, we have had many attempts of people trying to scam our business by “forgetting” their receipt and/or ticket stub in order to dispute a lower cost for the repairsDue to this I have become more aware of this and am trying to be proactive about protecting my businessIn this case with ***, during the shoe cleaning process some of the invoice details, which included the price amount got smeared and became unreadable, because of this I asked for a receiptThis was not because I did not want to refund the moneyThe receipt allows me to go back into the credit card machine to verify everything and refund the amount back into the correct card efficiently and safelyNot knowing this bit of information of how our business operates and due to the altered emotional states of both *** and I over the confrontation, we exploded into a heated yelling argument back and forth but I do not recollect cursing at him As far as an apology goes, I do not think it is necessary because I was only protecting myself and my business and *** was protecting himself and his personal assetsAlso, *** has already cancelled the credit card payment through the bank and already received his $back
