COMPLETE FRAUD
This guy came to my home to inspect my a/c for Cinch Home Warranty. He was there less than 30 minutes and ran NO TESTS did absolutely nothing to accurately diagnose the issue. I had 2 witnesses there to talk with Eddie as I was at work. He told my sister that a rock hit the unit and that is where the Freon leak is. He is so incompetent that after reading all other reviews on this guy I now see the racket he has going on with all the home warranty companies. I hired a REPUTABLE heating and cooling company to look at the a/c. They inspected it and was at my home for over an hour. They found the leak INSIDE at the coupling liquid line connection. There was NO DAMAGE to my unit nor did a ROCK CAUSE DAMAGE! All of this is noted by the REPUTABLE person on the invoice he provided. STAY AWAY from this ENM Contracting. He is hired to get your claims DENIED and provided Cinch Home Warranty with false information. There was absolutely no rock damage causing a leak! I have since sent letters to Cinch, BBB of FL, BBB of IL and filing a complaint with the Attorney General of IL.
COMPLETE FRAUD

On August 3, 2019, HMS Home Warranty provided me the name of their contractor to contact regarding a warranty claim on my waster heater. The contractor was Eddie Givens Contracting Services, ***. The warranty rep informed me I would have to pay a $100 deductible for the company to come out and evaluate my water heater. Mr. Eddie Givens showed @6:30pm to evaluate my water tank. He took pictures and measurements. I also took pictures. Eddie drove me to my nearby bank where I took out the $100 deductible and gave it to him. He then told me he would send his information into the company and they would get back with me.

Based on Mr.Givens' information, HMS Home Warranty made their decision on how to proceed with my warranty claim. While I have separate issues with the warranty company, it was Mr. Givens' input on which they relied. I ended up cancelling my warranty agreement. In the course of events, I uncovered information that Mr.Eddie Givens may not possess a plumber's license.

August 16, 2019 (4:27pm), I contacted Mr. Givens about my hot water heater claim. Following are notes from our conversation: Called Eddie Givens, of Eddie Givens Contracting Services, and asked him if he was in possession of the water heater HMS Home Warranty says they ordered. His reply was, “not yet.” I told him HMS’s charge for the water heater was $586.00, and did he know who would have it. In turn, he asked me if I heard from the company. I replied that they had sent me texts to set up a date for the installation, but that I wanted to know what the non-covered charges were, and they haven’t given me that information. He said that if I didn’t respond back to them they probably would send the water heater back to where they ordered it. If I didn’t accept the non-covered charges, then they would probably cancel the claim. I told him I was confused why they wouldn’t respond to my request for information on the non-covered charges which totaled over $1,000. He asked if he could call me back while he looked for my information. I agreed.
Within a few minutes he called me back and said the non-covered charges were for things like, expansion tank, union joints, shut off valve, and flue lines. People tend to think they don’t have to pay anything with a warranty. He said it costs $2500 to get and put in a water heater. He added his company was a bargain because they only charge $1850 to put one in. He offered that I could get my own installer and then ask HMS for a credit. I asked him if he was a licensed plumber in the state of Illinois. He replied, “right.” Then went on to say, you don’t have to be a plumber to put one in and could get it done cheaper. But because I would be using them as professionals, that’s why they charge more.

Aug 19, 2019 (8:57am) I talked to a rep at the Illinois Department of Public Health *** who confirmed there is no record of Eddie Givens holding a plumber’s license in the state of Illinois.

The Illinois Department of Health website: dph.illinois.gov/topics-services/environmental-health-protection/plumbing states as follows:
To protect public health, the Illinois Department of Public Health regulates plumbers and the plumbing trade by maintaining a minimum code of standards for plumbing practices. Individuals who plan, inspect, install, alter, extend, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in state of Illinois must be licensed.

Inasmuch as, Mr. Givens misrepresented himself as a licensed plumber and took a $100 deductible from me for his evaluation
of my water heater, I believe fraud was committed against me.

This consumer's complaint should be directed towards the warranty company. That is who hired us to do the job. I am not a licensed plumber but I employ licensed plumbers and the warranty company sent us a work order because Mr. Mays was having trouble with his water heater. His issue was about charges assessed by his warranty company.

In retrospect of *** complaint, lie seems to be confused on several points: 1). I never told him I was a p lumber. He was informed that if approved to do the replacement of his hot water heater, that the replacement would be done by a licensed professional. I can only assume he thought I was speaking of myself. Let it be noted that while I’m licensed, educated and experienced in several trades being a connecting service we employee and subcontract to other licensed professionals to handle jobs that require special licenses. We however carry bonds an insurance to cover the work done.

After receiving a service request via the warranty company, I went to *** home to gather information on his problem, the only thing that was done at the time was pictures and measurement of the water he was taking also a statement from him of the problem he was having (the water heater was leaking) this is standard procedure with most companies. The information was brought back to my office where it was given to my estimator and plumber, who estimated out the cost and forward all information to the warranty company.
After the information is forwarded all other decisions or made by the warranty company as to who will pay for what or if the claim will be approved or not. We have nothing at all to do with that process as *** assumes. *** did however call me a few times inquiring about pricing and the claims process. He was advised to contact his warranty company for further details as we would only be notified if his claim was approved.

In reference to the $100.00 fee he paid, if he reads his warranty agreement, he has with the warranty company he would know that the fee/deductible he pays to the service company upon them responding is nonrefundable. For your information, it was he that signed the agreement. It should be also noted that we have no contract with *** written or oral.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: As Mr. Givens stated, he is not a licensed plumber in the state of Illinois. Yet it was he, and not one of his licensed employees, who assessed the plumbing needs of my water heater and consequently returned his assessment to the warranty company.

The Illinois Department of Health website: *** states as follows: Individuals who plan, inspect, install, alter, extend. repair, and maintain plumbing systems in the state of Illinois must be licensed.

By not being a licensed plumber, Mr. Givens had no authority or qualifications to forward any information regarding my warranty claim. Therefore, in my mind, accepted my $100 deductible under false pretenses. My claim against the warranty company is a separate issue and we have reached a settlement.

I did not alter, inspect, repair, or anything else. All I did was take the pictures. You don't have to be licensed to take pictures.

I have a *** warranty and our hot water heater went out *** contractor with Eddie Givens contracting services to install a new hot water heater this was an on May 22, 2019 the first hot water heater they installed did not work second hot water heater was installed on June 24 and also did not work we have gone over a month with no hot water and no resolution to the problem Eddie Givens was already paid $1100 for services and we are still without hot water when I call Eddie Givens I am told call see years when I called *** I am told to call Eddie Gibbons I am getting a complete run around and I need help

E-N-M Contracting Services Response • Jul 11, 2019

The $1100 that was paid out was to cover the plumbing and the electrical modification to the hot water heater, so that all of this could be brought up to code. The plumbing is working fine. The issue is the hot water heater which was obtained from Sears, the warranty company.
